Hayes Carll’s "Lovers and Leavers" out April 8, new song premieres at NPR Music

HAYES CARLL’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM LOVERS AND LEAVERS OUT APRIL 8 NEW SONG PREMIERES AT NPR MUSIC PRODUCED BY JOE HENRY. CARLL NOMINATED FOR “BEST COUNTRY SONG” AT THE 58TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS. “He spins a yarn with fresh wit, details a failure with unflinching honesty, and everything in between remains admirably cliché-free.”—Los Angeles Times   Lovers and Leavers, the highly anticipated new full-length album from Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Hayes Carll, will be released April 8 via Thirty Tigers. In advance of the release, a new song, “The Love That We Need,” recently premiered at NPR Music and can now be heard/shared via SoundCloud. Of the track, NPR Music praises, “Depicting failure of such a private, ordinary variety, without any colorful exaggeration or comic relief, is an exacting art. Turns out Carll’s excellent at it.” Produced by Grammy-award winning producer and musician Joe Henry (Glen Hansard, Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt), the 10-track album was recorded live over five days in L.A. during the winter of 2015. Of the album, Carll comments: “I didn’t have one song that I knew would be a sing along or would make people dance. I felt vulnerable in a way that I hadn’t in a long time. But I got what I wanted – a record with space, nuance, and room to breathe. It felt right for my art. It felt right for my life. ‘Lovers and Leavers’ isn’t funny or raucous. There are very few hoots and almost no hollers. But it is joyous, and it makes me smile. No, it’s not my ‘Blood on the Tracks,’ nor is it any kind of opus. It’s my fifth record — a reflection of a specific time and place. It is quiet, like I wanted it to be.” Lovers and Leavers is Carll’s first release since 2011’s acclaimed, KMAG YOYO (& Other American Stories). Widely praised by critics, The New York Times asserted, “…[Carll] extends a worthy Texas tradition: the weathered, hard-drinking, weary but clear-eyed troubadour…,” while SPIN included him in their feature “The Next Big Things: 11 Artists You Must Hear in 2011,” calling him a “silver-tongue-in-cheek country iconoclast.” Most recently, Carll was nominated for “Best Country Song” at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards for his song, “Chances Are.” Originally featured on KMAG YOYO, the song was recently re-recorded by Lee Ann Womack for her acclaimed 2014 album The Way I’m Livin’. Carll will tour extensively in celebration of the record, including upcoming dates across the U.K. and Ireland. Additional performances in North America, Europe and Australia will be announced shortly. LOVERS AND LEAVERS TRACK LIST 1. Drive 2. Sake Of The Song 3. Good While It Lasted 4. You Leave Alone 5. TIM MCGRAW RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “HUMBLE AND KIND”

TIM MCGRAW RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “HUMBLE AND KIND” FROM CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ALBUM DAMN COUNTRY MUSIC Launches StayHumbleandKind.com #stayhumbleandkind Tim McGraw publicity photo (credit Danny Clinch):https://www.hightail.com/download/bXBZT2pDd0l6NEwwZXNUQw Continuing the success of his critically-acclaimed album Damn Country Music, three-time Grammy®-winning singer, songwriter, and actor Tim McGraw released the record’s anthemic second single, “Humble And Kind,” today. Fans will be able to catch an exclusive sneak preview tonight of the track’s music video on Entertainment Tonight. The full video will debut on McGraw’s Facebook page tomorrow at 12pm CST/1pm EST followed by a live chat with McGraw at 8pm CST/9pm EST. “I felt like it was going to be a special song when we finished it. Then when we mixed it, it just really came alive,” McGraw says of the song. “It’s not about being ‘my’ song or ‘my’ album or ‘my’ piece of music or any of those things. I think it’s just the message that the world needs. The song is so special, we wanted the video to really have a meaning to it and the video to be really universal and worldly and encompass everyone and what the emotion of the song is.” The “Humble And Kind” music video, directed by Wes Edwards, features scenes from Oprah Winfrey’s groundbreaking documentary “Belief,” which depicts how people with a wide range of beliefs search for deeper meaning and connection with the world around them. The song’s music video marries these universal scenes of faith and life with a dramatic McGraw performance, captured by a one-of-a-kind 360 degree turntable lighting rig which provides a big looping light highlighting the passage of time. The lyrics serve as a poignantly complementary soundtrack to the vivid, emotional storytelling and cinematic visual imagery of the series, which aired on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network last fall. Along with the single and video, McGraw will also launch stayhumbleandkind.com, a site that aggregates stories shared with the hashtag #stayhumbleandkind as well as encourages random acts of kindness through a simple tracking program. “We want to celebrate positive stories that embody the lyric and message of the song – from the most simple to the extraordinary,” said McGraw. The song became an immediate standout on Damn Country Music for fans and critics alike, with TIME Magazine noting that “McGraw shines most brightly when he’s foregrounding his warm, supple voice and keeping the music that surrounds him uncluttered. Perhaps that’s why the album closes with ‘Humble and Kind,’ in which the ‘good life’ means one governed by manners and grace.” Newsday agreed, citing that “McGraw is at his best with a big, emotional ballad and he has a masterpiece to work with here…  [the song] is a gorgeous bit of advice — in this case, from a father to his children, but it’s really pretty universal… McGraw delivers this advice with just the right amount of emotion, the right balance between preaching and suggestion.” Nash Country Weekly further hailed the song “the album’s most powerful and pensive reminder of Tim’s aforementioned passion is the last verse in the last song… where he sings ‘When you get where you’re goin’, don’t forget turn back around / Continue reading TIM MCGRAW RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR “HUMBLE AND KIND”

Old Dominion Kicks Off “Meat and Candy Tour” With Memorable Nashville Celebration

OLD DOMINION KICKS OFF MEAT AND CANDY TOUR WITH MEMORABLE NASHVILLE CELEBRATION RCA Nashville band commemorates milestone with sold-out headlining tour opener, celebrates smash multi-week No. 1 “Break Up With Him” and looks to the future with new single “Snapback” RCA Nashville’s Old Dominion kicked off their highly-anticipated Meat and Candy Tour by selling out Marathon Music Works on Thursday, Jan. 14, Playing to an enthusiastic crowd of 1500, the show followed the ceremony for their debut multi-week No. 1 “Break Up With Him” earlier that day, where they celebrated their ten-year journey with friends and fans. “This is our first show out [of 2016],” singer Matthew Ramsey told the raucous sold-out crowd. “What a way to kick it off in our hometown. Lots of familiar faces and lots of new faces.” All those new faces are marking Old Dominion as one of 2016’s most exciting country acts to watch as well as an act who is “helping to usher in a new wave of country,” (Billboard). The group showed why critics, radio programmers and savvy fans think it’s the next big thing, playing “Break Up With Him” and new runaway hit “Snapback” for the crowd along with some of the best known cuts from members’ individual songwriting hits such as Blake Shelton’s “Sangria“ and Tyler Farr’s “Guy Walks into a Bar.” The 20-song set was broadcast live across North America by SiriusXM. “At our first show there were 25 people there, so this is a welcome sight!” Ramsey joked with fans, who crowded the stage and danced all night. “Break Up With Him,” the first single from Shane McAnally-produced debut album Meat and Candy, is unique in several ways. The song was written by all five members of the band – Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung and Brad Tursi. It was then recorded by all five members who played their own instruments on the album. “Break Up With Him” also broke unconventionally, getting its start on SiriusXM’s The Highway, where it was voted the No. 1 song of 2015 by fans, after spending six consecutive weeks in the No.1 spot The Highway’s Hot 45 Countdown. It then migrated to terrestrial radio thanks to fan demand. A record deal quickly followed. “Break Up With Him” marks a milestone for all five members. It’s the first No. 1 for Sellers and Sprung and gives Ramsey, Rosen and Tursi a coveted Triple Play, the award given by the Country Music Association marking three or more No. 1 songs in a 12-month period. Rosen now has four career chart-toppers, Ramsey and Tursi have three. “It started with just the five of us. When we started this thing out our goal was in the end to remain friends, and I think we’re doing pretty good in that. It also highlights how much it’s just not the five of us any more and how many people are out there busting their asses for us.” Those numbers could be headed upward soon. Second single “Snapback” has connected instantly with fans, driving 126 country radio stations to add it upon release last week. That’s nearly double the number that initially added “Break Up With Him,” reflecting Old Dominion’s quick rise. Fans will have lots of opportunities to catch Old Dominion in 2016. First up is a headlining tour that has already secured sellouts of 15 shows across the U.S., including Joe’s Pub in New York City, Joe’s Bar in Chicago, The Roxy in Los Angeles and the Grizzly Rose in Denver. Later in the year they join Kenny Chesney for the second straight summer along with Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt.
