CHRIS STAPLETON, THOMAS RHETT, AND ALAN JACKSON ANNOUNCED AS 2017 HEADLINERS Kicker Country Stampede is celebrating 22 years of bringing the magic of Nashville’s music scene to Manhattan, Kansas by releasing some exciting names in its first round of 2017 lineup announcements. Superstar Chris Stapleton has been announced as a headliner for 2017! Already an established Nashville songwriter for the biggest names in country, Stapleton’s star shot straight up when he released his debut album Traveller in 2015. The album earned Stapleton four Grammy nominations with two wins and platinum selling status. Stapleton also made history at the CMA Awards when he was the first artist to win Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the same awards. Thomas Rhett, one of country music’s hottest stars, is also set to headline the Cenex® Main Stage on one of the three nights. Rhett, already has multiple number one hits to his name along with several prestigious industry award nominations, and multiplatinum selling status. Country music legend Alan Jackson will be joining Rhett as a headliner at the 2017 event. Chris Stapleton is nominated for “Entertainer of the Year,” “Single of the Year” as both artist and producer (“Nobody To Blame”), “Male Vocalist of the Year” and “Music Video of the Year” (“Fire Away”) at “The 50th Annual CMA Awards.” He’s also nominated alongside his wife, Morgane Stapleton, for “Musical Event of the Year” for their performance of “You Are My Sunshine” from producer Dave Cobb’s acclaimed Southern Family compilation. The awards ceremony will be broadcast on ABC live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 2 at 8/7c. CHRIS STAPLETON ADDS SPRING TOUR DATES Chris Stapleton will continue his extensive U.S. tour this spring, including newly added dates in New Orleans, Charlotte, and Philadelphia, among many others. The tour celebrates a breakthrough year for Stapleton following the release of his certified RIAA Platinum debut solo album, Traveller. Released last May on Mercury Records Nashville, Traveller initially debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country Albums chart with more than 27,000 albums sold, making it one of the best-selling first weeks by a debut country artist in 2015. The album also received extensive critical acclaim and has landed him bookings on multiple national TV shows including his recent appearance as musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
