Jason Aldean has completed production and is set for release on his first-ever live DVD “Wide Open Live & More!” Jason Aldean joins the ranks of those country music superstars releasing live DVD’s this August with the launch of “Wide Open Live & More!” due out August 25th from Eagle Rock Entertainment. The footage was filmed at the Knoxville Coliseum this spring and features performances from his first three chart-topping albums. Big Green Tractor Official Press Release: New York, NY (July 24, 2009)–Country music fans swarmed the Knoxville Coliseum in March for a sold-out live concert DVD taping with platinum-selling country rocker Jason Aldean. Fans across the country will soon be able to find the Eagle Vision set titled Wide Open Live & More! in stores on Aug. 25 (Pre-book order date August 5, MSRP $14.98 for DVD, $24.98 for Blu-ray). The 15-song hi-definition special, available on DVD and Blu-ray, directed by Ivan Dudynsky, captures Aldean’s high-octane stage show and includes his biggest radio hits, as well as fan-favorite album cuts from his first three albums; Jason Aldean, Relentless and the already GOLD certified Wide Open. Bonus interview footage with the Georgia-native rounds out the 86-minute collection. “This is the coolest thing we’ve ever done together as a band,” said Aldean from Los Angeles, where he is taping The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. “We aren’t quite at the point yet that we can afford to have all the toys on stage that some of the bigger guys out there have, so we have to work a little harder to get the crowd going. The energy in Knoxville was off the charts, and it’s just really special for us to have that night recorded. Now, people who might not be able to make it to one of the shows, but are curious to know what we do, can check it out too.” A tease of the live DVD debuted as the new music video for Aldean’s current smash country love song “Big Green Tractor” on Fri., July 24 through MySpace Music. The clip will also begin airing on all video networks in the coming weeks. Fans can catch Aldean headlining his Wide Open tour through the fall, as well as opening a handful of dates for superstar Keith Urban in the coming weeks. Jason Aldean is kickin’ butt on Myspace and takin’ names on the Billboard charts! Jason Aldean loves his country girls, and now they’re showin’ that they love him right back! From the press release: Platinum-selling country rocker Jason Aldean’s latest attitude-laden hit “She’s Country” passed the 10 million mark on Myspace this week, making it the most streamed country song of any solo artist on the current Top 40 chart. Miranda Lambert’s “More Like Her” and Taylor Swift’s “White Horse” trail in second and third place respectively. Additionally, Aldean unveils a brand new music video on AOL Music’s homepage on Friday that will also go into Hot Shot rotation on CMT on Monday. Directed by Wes Edwards, the performance clip was filmed at Jan. concert dates in Peoria, IL, Evansville, IN, and LaCrosse, WI, and celebrates Aldean’s real farm girl fans from those Midwestern cities. To Jason Aldean, Relentless, which is the title of his latest album, could also describe his pursuit of country music stardom. Jason tells Dial-Global he can be quite stubborn, but he believes you have to be in order to succeed in such a competitive business. “I think that if you’re one of those people that takes no for an answer and just says, ‘Okay, well, I guess I just ain’t cut out for it,’ you’re probably not,” he says. “I mean, it was very frustrating, don’t get me wrong, but at the same time, I wasn’t willing to take no for an answer either. I just felt like if somebody would give me a shot at it then we had something to offer that was gonna hopefully work.” Jason says you never know if you can succeed until you get the chance to try. “If I got the chance and failed, then I could live with that,” he says. “But not ever knowing, that was the part that was really kind of nerve-racking for me.” Jason’s stubborn nature seems to still be working out well for him.
