Singer and songwriter Luke Bryan comes by his country influences naturally — he grew up in Leesburg, GA, a small town 100 miles from the Alabama border where his father grew peanuts and sold fertilizer for a living. Bryan helped his family work the farm when he was young, but in his early teens he developed a passion for country music, picking up his influences from his parents’ record collection, listening to the likes of George Strait, Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap, Alan Jackson, and Merle Haggard. When he was 14, his folks bought Bryan his first guitar, and a year later his performing and singing was strong enough that he began sitting in with local bands at a club featuring live country songs. At 16, Bryan starting writing songs with the help of a pair of local tunesmiths who had enjoyed some success in Nashville, and Bryan planned to head to songs City to try his luck after graduating from high school until his brother died in an auto accident. Wanting to offer emotional support to his family, Bryan opted to attend Georgia Southern University instead, though he didn’t give up songs; Bryan continued writing songs, formed a ensemble and was performing bookings on campus or at nearby watering holes most weekends at a time of pursuing his studies. Bryan recorded a self-released album he sold at concerts at a time of this period, but he was reluctant to take the plunge and devote himself to songs full-time until he returned home to work in the family business after receiving his degree. Bryan’s dad, confident of his son’s talent, made him an offer — he could either move to Nashville or be fired. In the early fall of 2001, Bryan pulled up stakes and relocated to Nashville, where his heartfelt songs of country life acquired him a record deal with one of the city’s many publishing houses. In his free time, Bryan continued to perform at local clubs, and after an A&R man from Capitol Records saw him perform a set of his original material, he was given a album deal. Capitol gave us Bryan’s first widely distributed album, I’ll Stay Me, in the summer of 2007, not long after it with Doin’ My Thing in 2009.

Luke Bryan’s Second Son Arrives!

Luke Bryan joins his wife in celebrating the birth of their second child, Tatum Christopher Bryan! Luke and Caroline Bryan welcomed their second son into the world today. Tatum “Tate” Christopher Bryan was born in a Nashville area hospital, weighing in at 6.8 pounds and is 21 inches long. Mother and son are doing well and will be released for home soon. “Nothing like coming home after an eight day run and having an early surprise like this!,” exclaimed Bryan. “Such an amazing day for me and my family. We are so blessed to have another healthy baby boy. All the fishing holes in Nashville better look out when I get out there in the next few years with Tate and big brother Bo!! Luke Bryan Announces First Headlining Tour

Luke Bryan announces his first nationwide headlining tour to support his new album “Doin My Thing” Luke Byran has been busy doin’ his thing in the studio for a while but now it’s time to hit the road! Luke’s new album “Doin My Thing” hits store shelves October 6th and he’s heading out on his first headlining tour at the end of October to support the album. The tour kicks off in Jacksonville, Florida on October 30th, giving the star plenty of wiggle-room to fit in the SEC Georgia vs Florida rivalry football game in the process. Luke Bryan Kicks Off Farm Tour

Luke Bryan could be playing at a farmhouse near you as he announces his 2009 Farm Tour! Luke Bryan has just announced his first Farm Tour show on October 5 in Statesboro, Georgia. The concept for this tour came from Bryan as his way to give back to local farming communities. These special one-off shows will continue throughout Bryan’s career with additional dates already planned for 2010. Further details on these Farm Tour shows will be announced at a later time. GAC’s Top 20 will film their show on site in Statesboro. “Being from a rural farming community, the Farm Tour is something I have envisioned for a very long time,” says Bryan. “I love the thought of setting up on a farm and building our own little world, starting small and growing it each time. We can never do enough to bring awareness to the hard working farmers of this country.” The October 5 Farm Tour concert will be held at Hurricane Plantation in Claxton, Georgia, just outside of Statesboro, with proceeds going to a scholarship fund for students at Georgia Southern University, where Luke Bryan graduated from. Tickets are available online Thursday, September 10 at lukebryan.com and also hard tickets available September 12 at Harry’s BBQ & Seafood in Hagan, GA. Great American Country will film the Top 20 Countdown Show from the show. The first-ever Farm Tour show is also the kick-off for Bryan’s Doin’ My Thing album launch where he plans to head to multiple cities in a two week timeframe to meet his fans and play new music. Luke Bryan to Host 2009 CMA Music Festival

Luke Bryan will return to the CMA Music Festival as host again this year. Luke Bryan will be co-hosting this year’s ABC coverage of the CMA Music Festival again after already having been a co-host in 2007. “Hosting the CMA Music Festival coverage for ABC.com with Ashley is something I truly enjoy doing,” says Bryan. “I think I have grown so much since the first year we hosted together just by watching and learning from her. It’s such a great experience for me to be a part of this and be able to let the fans see all the things that go on during CMA Music Festival week. Country artists truly appreciate every single person who supports what we do and this is a way that I can help give back to both those who attend and those who were not able to be here.” Luke has also been giving his all in the studio, where finishing touches are in progress n his upcoming album “Doin’ My Thing” which is due out October 6th.
