Miranda Lambert On Law and Order

Miranda Lambert Makes Television Debut On Crime Drama Favorite, Law and Order: SVU. Miranda Lambert may have caught the television bug from hubby, Blake Shelton! She, however, is going in a different direction. Lambert will be guest starring on an episode of NBC’s popular crime drama, Law and Order: SVU. Reportedly, she will be playing an actress that has suffered abuse from her show producer, played by Micheal McKean, on a reality tv series. We don’t know when the show will air just yet, but clearly Miranda is excited (as she should be!), having tweeted “Y’all I’m so freaking excited to be on my favorite show ever”. We’re excited too! Additionally, Lambert is joining Blake as a mentor on the set of the upcoming second season of The Voice, also an NBC production. The Voice fans can expect to see Kelly Clarkson in the mix this season as a mentor as well. The season premieres February 5th.

Neal McCoy New Album Release Date

Neal McCoy Sets Release Date For Upcoming Album! Last year, Neal McCoy totally faked us out. He released a YouTube video hinting at the release of new material. Now, the fake out was that Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert did the talking, and we all thought that THEY were releasing an album together. To our dismay Blake and Miranda were not talking about their own project, but to our delight they were talking about new music in the works from Neal McCoy! This album, titled XII, is scheduled to release on March 6th, 2012. It is co-produced by Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton (there’s the fake-out!), and guitarist Brent Rowan. His current single, “A-OK” released last year.

Miranda Lambert On Chelsea Lately

Miranda Lambert Joins The Female Comedian On The E Network. Miranda Lambert was the special guest on last night’s episode of Chelsea Lately on E! The two talked about everything from her music to her dogs. Both blondes have more in common than you would think, they are both very successful, tough women and have a special place in their hearts for Blake Shelton. As we all know Miranda and Blake got married last spring. For those of you who don’t know, Blake has been a guest on Handler’s show on a couple occasions where they shared some comical banter back and forth. Chelsea was really interested to know what Lambert’s obsession is with fire and the country singer answered with “I feel powerful when it’s around.” If you missed it make sure to look for reruns or go online to watch the full episode!

2011 CMA Awards Winners

Complete List of Award Recipients for 45th Annual CMA Awards ! The 2011 45th Annual Country Music Association Awards have come and gone. It was a pretty great night overall. Maybe there was just a little too much sparkle (for example, several sequin blazers from a variety of male performers or Luke Bryan‘s rhinestone studded jeans…), but there were some really strong performances, two great hosts (Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood proved to be a great comedic team…again), and a really amazing tribute to Glen Campbell by Brad Paisley, Vince Gill and Keith Urban. My favorite part might be that both Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton won in their categories (Female and Male vocalist) for the second year in a row! It really has been a great year for them! If you didn’t have the chance to watch it with us live, you can find the complete list of the winners below (to see a complete list of all the nominees, click here). Miranda Lambert Four The Record Album Review

Miranda Lambert Isn’t Holding Back On New Album. Miranda Lambert isn’t exactly known for being delicate, but after the release of her new album Four The Record, there really is no going back. One of the best things about Miranda is the unabashed strength, in her voice, music and the lyrics she sings. With this new album, she takes this quality to a whole new level. The short story is this album is amazing, and you absolutely need to listen to it immediately. If you want the long story, just keep reading. If I had to use one word to describe this album…(well, okay, how about two words?), I would choose raw and honest. From the instrumentals to the lyrics the content of Four The Record is thick with relevance, meaning and emotion, and Miranda delivers it with a punch. One thing I especially like is the variation in the instrumentals. It ranges from a kind of rock-esque sound with “Fine Tune“, a more old country feel with “Same Old You“, a slow, semi-folkish quality in “Oklahoma Sky” and “Look At Miss Ohio“, a more contemporary mainstream country vibe on “Better In The Long Run“, all the way to that very classic feisty Miranda quality in “Baggage Claim” (the first single off the album!). No matter how you slice it, there really is a little something on this album for a variety of tastes while still holding true to that country twang that we all know and love. There is an especially awesome Dolly-esque moment in “Same Old You” that shows where Miranda must be getting her influences (see if you can hear what I’m talking about, and get back to me!). Coupled with the amazing instrumentals and variation of sounds, Miranda offers up lyrics that are well-written and subtle which is something we’re not getting a whole lot of out of mainstream country these days. The first thing I love about the lyrics, is that they are not all love stories. Listening to the radio can get frustrating when everything sounds like a different version of the same old love story. We are definitely getting much more than that on this album. The first track, “All Kinds of Kinds” is slow and methodical with an almost sweet sound, and it paints a picture of those individuals society generally considers to be outcasts (from circus folk to cross-dressing politicians). The argument suggested is the world needs these outcasts, all kinds, to keep on spinnin’. “Mama’s Broken Heart” is a story of a broken-hearted girl, but she approaches the topic by delightfully describing a girl who isn’t willing to shut-up and save face. This really seems to capture that strong, not-gonna-take-it-lying-down country woman spirit that I love! “Look At Miss Ohio” gives us a story of girl who isn’t ready to settle down and conform, but wants to live a little for awhile. All three of these are not only not love songs, but give us stories of individuals who are Continue reading Miranda Lambert Four The Record Album Review
