“Southern Christmas” Wraps Production in Oklahoma

Ascension Media, in association with BCF Film Group and the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), is pleased to announce the completion of principal photography on the feature film “Southern Christmas”. The production was based in Guthrie with additional filming in Stillwater and Edmond, and utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program administered by OF+MO. “Southern Christmas” tells the story of two teenage girls, played by Sierra McCormick (Disney’s “A.N.T. Farm”) and Brighton Sharbino (AMC’s “The Walking Dead”), from different worlds who experience a little Christmas magic and find they have much more in common than they ever imagined. Producer and Director Harvey Lowry happily returned to Oklahoma for yet another film, having previously directed the feature “Monday at 11:01 A.M.”, which also utilized the Oklahoma Film Enhancement Rebate Program in the fall of 2014. “It was an honor to utilize the rebate program and work with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office. I’m very glad to be back in Oklahoma,” said Lowry. “Guthrie was the perfect backdrop for our family-friendly holiday film, ‘Southern Christmas.’” This film is also being produced by Jasmine Fontes, Rachel Meyer and Kelli Kaye. Meyer notes, “Guthrie is one of the most welcoming towns in which I’ve ever stepped foot. We’re looking forward to showcasing this historic gem on screen.” The film features Oklahoma grown talent Joe Don Rooney (Rascal Flatts), Paula Trickey (“Pacific Blue”), and Christian Kane (“Leverage”). It also welcomes the talented Christopher Rich (“Reba”), Tiffany Fallon (“The Girls Next Door”) and Hollywood legends Bo Derek (“10”) and Shelley Long (“Cheers”). The local talent in Oklahoma is outstanding, and the producers are proud to introduce Tisha Alexander Bradford, Ryan Coffey, Parker Ridings, Thatcher Ridings, Bryson Smith and Gavin Taylor. The producers give special acknowledgement to their phenomenal crew whose tireless efforts and skill made principal photography a terrific success. This weekend, she broadcasted from Edmonton, Alberta where she was on the road with The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood.* This Saturday (2/25), Trisha Yearwood took her T’s Coffee Talk Facebook Live chat to the stage at Roger’s place in Edmonton, Alberta where she and Garth Brooks were preparing to perform a double show. Trisha was proudly celebrating the 5 millionth ticket sold on The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood, which was commemorated with the installment of a grand banner at the venue. She joked that directly following the Edmonton show last night, Garth was greeted by a wave of applause from the crew for the accomplishment and he responded by saying he was now looking forward to selling 6 million tickets! In celebration, Trisha gave away two ‘G’ sweatshirts from the Canadian tour merchandise. The sweatshirts were so popular that they ended up completely selling out the week before. Trisha and her good friend Mandy made the stage feel like home for the chat by bringing in a couch, pillows and side table from the Trisha Yearwood Home Collection. A significant amount of love and compliments poured in from fans about the furniture selected. Trisha thanked the lighting and sound crew for positioning everything the night before so that they could tape the coffee talk bright and early in the morning. Trisha ended her chat by explaining the meaning of today’s Trisha’s Southern Kitchen “Shoebox Memories” episode. She explained that her mom put all of her favorite recipes in a shoebox, which Trisha and her sister Beth now shared joint custody over.
