“These are the songs I’d listen to this summer! There’s also a little sequel buried in there,” shares Matthew. “From a sandy beach to the heartbreak highway – there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re feeling crazy or lazy, here’s a cheers to the summer!”
Reflecting Matthew’s most mature, melodic work to date, the Always Be Mine EP follows a series of career-building milestones and features five fresh tracks, each one mixing modern Country muscle with timeless lyricism and a unique-to-Matthew edge.
Upping his already buzzed-about game, the Nashville native earns credit as a co-writer on four of five new tunes like the nostalgic, yearning title track “Always Be Mine,” which fuses a slow-grooving cruise through romantic memory with an unfiltered look at reality as it is. Built around an acoustic guitar melody and soft synthetic beats, Matthew’s tender-yet-tough vocal croons about a love that didn’t last, but will always be the one he measures the rest against – co-penned by the hitmaker with Jacob Durrett (also the producer), Andy Albert, Jaxson Free, and Taylor Phillips. Meanwhile, Matthew is delivering the official music video for “Saltwater Cinderella” today (7/4) as well, bringing the sand and steam of a red-hot summer fling to life. Directed by West Webb, the clip perfectly captures the essence of a heart-pounding Country banger, dedicated by Matthew to beachside beauties from 30A to California and beyond – but that’s not all. Also infused with live performance footage (and real-life ‘Saltwater Cinderellas’) from Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, FL, the music video leaves no doubt about the adrenaline rush of Matthew’s live shows.
