CMT To Celebrate Country Music Women In First-Ever All-Female ‘Artists Of The Year’ Special

CMT will honor the ladies of Country music with its first-ever all-female “ARTISTS OF THE YEAR” special, set to premiere WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17th on CMT-TV at 8p (ET). The 90-minute program will feature CARRIE UNDERWOOD, MIRANDA LAMBERT, KELSEA BALLERINI, MAREN MORRIS, KAREN FAIRCHILD and KIMBERLY SCHLAPMAN of LITTLE BIG TOWN, and LADY ANTEBELLUM’s HILLARY SCOTT, as well as more surprise guests. In addition to the special, CMT will continue to champion Country music women through a day-long “WOMEN OF COUNTRY MUSIC” takeover across all CMT platforms the same day.
From our friends at CMT
“This year, we’re evolving the special to reflect what’s happening right now in culture and in the lives of our fans,” said CMT SVP/Music & Talent LESLIE FRAM in a release. “In this monumental year for women, dedicating one of the biggest nights in the genre to applaud female Country artists not only solidifies our commitment, but we hope will spark a much-needed change in the industry.”
