before co-founding punk rock supergroup and cover band Me First &amp&semi; the Gimme Gimmes&comma; alongside Fat Mike of NOFX and Joey Cape of Lagwagon&period; Shiflett left No Use for a Name in 1999 to join the Foo Fighters on guitar just prior to the release of their third album and has played with them ever since&comma;
