<p>With new episodes released every other Monday, this week’s episode, available now on PodcastOne, the PodcastOne app and iTunes, features an extended interview with country singer <a title="Dierks Bentley" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/dierks-bentley-concert-tour-dates/">Dierks Bentley</a>, and explores his history and new album, “Black,” out this week.</p>
<p>An excerpt from the interview follows:</p>
<p class="Body"><b>Bentley:</b> “I just work on writing songs and see if something sticks…I wrote the song “Black” which really became the cornerstone of this album. A lot of the songs I was writing or choosing to record were…autobiographical or personal, but then other ones I just felt like I was taking advantage of the fact that I’m a songwriter and just creative freedom to explore someone else’s shoes…just exploring parts of my heart that I can’t explore…So I wouldn’t call it a concept record. For me there’s a personal thread that goes throughout the whole thing but I would never want to impose that upon another person’s listening. I hope they can find their own thread in it.”</p>
<p class="Body">In excitement about joining PodcastOne, Shiflett said, “I couldn’t be more excited to join the PodcastOne network. I’ve got a laptop full of interviews and we’re booking more every day, so 2016 is going to be a busy year for <i>Walking The Floor</i>.”</p>

<p class="Body"><b><u>About Chris Shiflett</u></b></p>
<p class="Body">A Southern California native, <span lang="IT">Chris Shiflett </span>started playing guitar at age 11 and established himself around the local Santa Barbara music scene in high school. In 1995, Shiflett joined Fat Wreck Chords recording artists No Use for a Name, before co-founding punk rock supergroup and cover band Me First &; the Gimme Gimmes, alongside Fat Mike of NOFX and Joey Cape of Lagwagon. Shiflett left No Use for a Name in 1999 to join the Foo Fighters on guitar just prior to the release of their third album and has played with them ever since, continuing to record and tour the world over. Looking for an outlet for his own songwriting, Shiflett formed the band Jackson United in 2003 with his brother, Scott Shiflett, and Pete Parada (both of Face to Face). After recording two albums with Jackson United, he released his first album under his own name, the country-influenced “Chris Shiflett &; the Dead Peasants” on Le Coq Napoleon. Three years later, Shiflett &; the Dead Peasants returned with “All Hat and No Cattle” on SideOneDummy Records, an album of classic honky-tonk cover songs. Shiflett currently resides on the Westside of Los Angeles with his wife and is the proud father of three boys.</p>
