Chase Matthew, one of Nashville’s hottest country risers, taps into the vulnerability behind a broken heart with “The Way I Am,” out now via Warner Music Nashville.
Written by Matthew alongside Hunter Phelps, Brock Berryhill, and Andy Albert, the passionate track spotlights the Music City native’s impressive chops — all while diving into a raw story of a man who loses himself post-breakup.
“Breakups are never easy,” says Matthew. “I think we’ve all had those moments where you kind of lose yourself in a heartbreak — I know I have. When we wrote this one, we really wanted to explain that vulnerability because it’s just so relatable. ‘The Way I Am’ is one of my favorite songs I’ve released in a long time, and I’m so pumped for everyone to finally get to hear it.”
Last Friday (1.27), the HITS Magazine “One to Watch” kicked off his 18-date headline ‘Love You Again Tour,’ which continues through April 22.
