Listen Now” Kylie Frey “So You Think You Want A Cowboy?”

Carnival Music’s resident cowgirl Kylie Frey offers a good-natured reminder to be careful what you wish for today (3/22), serving up the pure-country “So You Think You Want A Cowboy?”

Listen Now" Kylie Frey “So You Think You Want A Cowboy?”

An uptempo Texas two-stepper drenched in fiddle, steel, and Frey’s authentic twang, the co-written girl-to-girl anthem comes with a fun loving wink and nod, as Frey delivers a lighthearted life lesson. Speaking from personal experience, the rising star sings of girls who say they’re looking for the rough-and-ready real deal … but should know up front what comes with it.

According to Frey, the track is fast becoming a fan favorite.

“Recently at a show an old cowboy had a smile from ear to ear while I was playing this song. He said he wanted to play it for his daughter!” she explains. “I love this song because it’s a little cautionary tale and even the cowboys can find the humor in it.”

Fans can stream or download “So You Think You Want A Cowboy?” HERE and the track has already been highlighted by a number of country tastemakers.

Earlier this week Frey dropped by Sirius XM’s The Highway to talk music and introduce the new song.  “So You Think You Want A Cowboy?” is now poised to follow a string of nine #1’s on The Texas Regional Radio Chart, as Frey’s modern throwback style continues to turn heads.

Next week (March 24-25) she’ll perform at the annual TR3 (Texas Regional Radio Report) Awards in Arlington, celebrating her fourth Female Vocalist of the Year nomination and fifth overall career nod.

She also took the stage for a star-studded BMI brunch at SXSW 2024 on March 15, and in January the country-to-the-core singer-songwriter was revealed in CMT’s Next Women of Country class of 2024 – held up as one of the most promising new female artists in country music.

Meanwhile, Frey is currently on the road in direct support of Randall King’s Into The Neon Tour, where she is scheduled to crisscross the Midwest, Southeast and beyond through May. Stay tuned for new music as 2024 unfolds, including two more tracks in April and May.
