The three-time Grammy-winning, seven-time Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year and five-time Academy of Country Music Album of the Year winner’s 41st year on Earth finds her in greater control of her artistic and creative direction than ever.

As of November 2023, she’s been announced as having moved from her 18-year home at Sony Nashville to becoming a Republic Records-signed artist and Big Loud Texas imprint co-founder alongside frequent collaborator and singer-songwriter Jon Randall.

‘Wranglers’ is about taking power back

Via a press statement, Lambert notes that “Wranglers,” her first new music via Republic Records, is the tale of an easily identifiable female protagonist “taking her power back” by getting “a little revenge on someone that did us wrong or hurt us.”

Recent social media posts by Lambert have alluded to prior songs in her catalog of a similar ilk, including 2007’s “Gunpowder & Lead” and 2011’s “Mama’s Broken Heart.”

“Music is and always will be the thing that drives me, but having a new home has given me a hunger I didn’t realize I still had inside me. This song feels like it could be on the same record as ‘Gunpowder & Lead’; it has that same fury,” Lambert says.
