Parmalee Searches for Lasting Love on New Song “I Need Somebody”

Parmalee may have another singalong hit on their hands.

Parmalee Searches for Lasting Love on New Song “I Need Somebody”

The six-time chart-topping band has released “I Need Somebody,” an upbeat new track about heartbreak, loneliness and the hope that the right person could finally put those pieces back together.

Matt Thomas, Taylor Phillips, Andrew DeRoberts, David Fanning and Andy Albert co-wrote the song.

“I Need Somebody” finds its narrator searching for more than a temporary distraction. He wants someone who will stay through the arguments, cold nights and difficult moments.

The polished production and instantly repeatable chorus place the song firmly in Parmalee’s established lane: emotionally vulnerable lyrics wrapped in an easygoing, radio-friendly melody.

Parmalee Continues Its Country Radio Hot Streak

“I Need Somebody” arrives as Parmalee’s current single, “God Knew Better,” continues climbing the country charts.

The North Carolina band has accumulated more than 2.2 billion streams and six No. 1 country hits. Its recent run includes “Take My Name,” “Girl in Mine,” “Just the Way” with Blanco Brown, “Gonna Love You” and “Cowgirl.”

That success has made Parmalee one of country radio’s most reliable groups, especially when it comes to love songs built around large, memorable hooks.

“I Need Somebody” follows that formula closely, but approaches romance from the perspective of someone who is still searching for the person who might stick around.
