It looks like Reba is taking the reigns when it comes time to ring in that holiday spirit. Jennifer Nettles is stepping down and Reba is stepping up to host the annual CMA Country Christmas special. The program will be taped in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry House on November 14th, and then later brodacast on November 27th on ABC.
REBA MCENTIRE will host the eighth annual “CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS” program, to be taped on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14th at the GRAND OLE OPRY HOUSE in NASHVILLE. The show will then air as a two-hour holiday special MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27th at 8p (ET) on ABC-TV.
“Christmas is such a special time,” said Reba. “It reminds me of growing up in Oklahoma and singing carols with my family; I’m just tickled to join a group of some of my best Country buddies onstage to celebrate the holiday season. This is where my love of music began.” Reba will perform songs of the season, along with a lineup of stars to be announced soon.

“Reba epitomizes Country and the cheer of the holiday season,” said CMA CEO Sarah Trahern. “She’s also the most nominated female in CMA Awards history, so the fit couldn’t be more perfect.” Tickets for the taping go on sale FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6th. Additionally, MCENTIRE will release “My Kind Of Christmas,” a package which features collaborations with VINCE GILL, DARIUS RUCKER, AMY GRANT, KELLY CLARKSON, and TRISHA YEARWOOD. The collection streets FRIDAY, OCTOBER 13th on NASH ICON RECORDS.
It is assumed that there are no hard feelings between the former Reba and Jennifer as they pass the hostess torch, as Jennifer Nettles has been busy in production for the Broadway musical Wicked.
