When you’re having the kind of year Shaboozey is having, why stop at topping charts? The breakout hitmaker just announced his next big move—launching his own label, American Dogwood, in partnership with EMPIRE.

And he’s not wasting any time. The label’s first signing is Nashville-based rising star Kevin Powers, who already co-wrote Shaboozey and Jelly Roll’s 2025 hit “Amen.” The two are kicking things off together with a collab called “Move On,” dropping September 19.
What American Dogwood Stands For
Shaboozey describes American Dogwood as “a tribute to where we come from, and to the artists, storytellers, and creators who make this life remarkable.” Along with longtime collaborators Jared Cotter and Abas Pauti, the mission is clear: build a home for diverse, boundary-pushing voices in Americana, country, hip-hop, and everything in between.
Who Is Kevin Powers?
Born in Boston, raised in Raleigh, and now making his mark in Nashville, Powers has been bubbling under the radar with viral singles like Walked In and How You Been?. His sound has been coined “Southern Pop”—a mix that feels tailor-made for Shaboozey’s genre-bending world. Now, with Move On as his official introduction under American Dogwood, Powers is ready for the spotlight.
Shaboozey’s Momentum Keeps Rolling
All of this comes as Shaboozey continues one of the biggest runs in recent memory. From the historic 8x Platinum smash “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” to his latest #1 “Good News,” he’s proven he’s not just riding a wave—he’s building his own current. His upcoming Great American Roadshow Tour kicks off September 22 in Indianapolis, with Kevin Powers joining as the opener.

Why Fans Should Care
It’s not every day you see an artist change the sound of country music and launch a label in the same breath. With Shaboozey running full speed and Kevin Powers set to break out, American Dogwood feels like the start of something bigger than just another imprint.
So what do y’all think—will Shaboozey’s label make as big an impact as his songs?
