Tammy Wynette: Forever Yours Brings Wynonna, Terri Clark and More to PBS October 23

A star-studded tribute to Tammy Wynette is coming to PBS this Friday. Great Performances – Tammy Wynette: Forever Yours premieres October 23, 2026, at 9 p.m. Eastern / 8 p.m. Central, with streaming on PBS.org and the PBS app.

Recorded in March at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, the concert brings together artists from across country, roots and rock to revisit Wynette’s music. Georgette Jones, Wynette’s daughter with George Jones, introduces the special.

Who is performing?

The lineup includes Wynonna Judd, Terri Clark, Kimberly Perry, Gretchen Wilson, Kaitlin Butts, Brittney Spencer, Lorrie Morgan, Mandy Barnett and The War & Treaty. Katie Pruitt, Carter Faith, Tami Neilson, Valerie June, Patty Griffin, Ann Wilson and other guests also take part.

That range of performers gives the tribute room to connect Wynette’s catalog with listeners who know every word and those finding their way into it for the first time.

The songs behind the tribute

The announced repertoire includes “Stand By Your Man,” “I Don’t Wanna Play House” and “D-I-V-O-R-C-E,” alongside songs associated with Wynette’s memorable duets with George Jones. The broadcast presents a concert filmed earlier this year, rather than a new live event at the Ryman.

Wynette’s place in country music rests on more than a handful of familiar titles. Her songs gave complicated feelings a direct voice, and this gathering offers a chance to hear how artists from different corners of music approach that legacy.

How to watch

The national premiere is Friday, October 23, at 9/8c on PBS. Check your local station’s schedule, since broadcast times can vary. Viewers can also find the special through PBS’s official episode page and the PBS app.

CountryMusicNewsBlog.com readers looking for a country music night at home have a good reason to clear some room on Friday’s schedule. Start with the official program announcement for additional concert details.
