Country singer and songwriter Billy Currington was raised in Rincon, GA. following high school, he made a couple attempts at relocating to Nashville in the hopes of getting a career in music off the ground, finally landing a job there at a concrete company, during still finding time to play at venues on the side and work on song demos. When vocalist Mark Wills put a hold on one of his songs, Currington met and started writing with Wills’ producer, Carson Chamberlain, which eventually led to a recording record deal with Mercury Records. His first single, “Walk a Little Straighter,” was released in 2003, and drew heavily on Currington’s experiences with an alcoholic father (the chorus for the song was actually written when Currington was only 12 years old). A debut album, Billy Currington, was gave us on Mercury Records in 2003. A second album, Doin’ Somethin’ Right, came in 2005 on Mercury Nashville. Little Bit of Everything appeared in 2008, also on Mercury Nashville.

Billy Currington’s “Good Directions” Has Been Certified Platinum, Making It His Third! Billy Currington’s song “Good Directions” was just recently certified platinum, making it his third song to do so to date. “Good Directions,” which comes off of his Doin’ Somethin’ Right album, was written by Luke Bryan and Rachel Thibodeau and was a previous summertime hit! “This is my third platinum song and it never gets old. Billy Currington Love Done Gone Music Video. Billy Currington’s latest single “Love Done Gone” from his album Enjoy Yourself is quite catchy to say the least! The lyrics speak about a relationship that didn’t work out, but leaves no one really fazed. Unlike the majority of break up songs, this one is more like sh*t happens, we were in love now we aren’t, time to move on. The music is very well orchestrated and the brass adds the perfect touch! In this video Currington is strolling down the street, having a great time, laid back, with no cares on his mind. I strongly advise you to watch this, but be warned you have a 94.8% chance of getting “Babadadadada” stuck in your head for the rest of the night. Billy Currington shows his wider range on Enjoy Yourself. Billy Currington is finally finished with post-production of his new album “Enjoy Yourself”. While the first single off the album, “Pretty Good At Drinking Beer” has achieved some success on the charts, Billy wants to be sure that fans know this album’s not about being some one-trick pony. It’s a great mix. It reflects who I am,” Currington says about the collection of 10 songs. “I’m definitely not just one thing. I’m the beach guy, I’m the country guy, I love my dirt roads and fishin’, but I love New York City and L.A. and Miami, too. “Enjoy Yourself”, features the Georgia native’s trademark mix of country, R&B and beach music, and is produced by Currington and Carson Chamberlain. The album showcases Nashville’s top songwriters, including Dave Barnes, Shawn Camp, Scotty Emerick, Jones and Mark Nesler. This record was about recording songwriter’s songs,” says Billy. “I could have gone back and recorded a bunch of mine that I’ve written, but there were a lot of writers I wanted to record, like Shawn and Troy. I had to put their songs on this album. The album releases on September 21st.

Billy Currington receives number #1 honors and album goes gold. Currington’s single,”That’s How Country Boys Roll,” awarded #1 honors and his album “Little Bit of Everything” goes gold. Currington and Carson Chamberlain produced the album “Little Bit of Everything.” With marketing sales exceeding 500k units, Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded Currington Gold Certification yesterday. Also, Currington received honors for single “That’s How Country Boys Roll,” which earlier this month climbed to #1. Billy Currington Surprised by Success: Earns His First Platinum

Billy Currington has a hot new single in “Tangled Up” and he’s just earned his first platinum album. At a recent party in Nashville celebrating the platinum status of Doin’ Something Right, he told Country Weekly that success snuck up on him.“I didn’t see it coming,” he says. “It was out of the blue, because we had the first album, and there were a lot of songs on there that didn’t make the radio, so it didn’t allow the record to get out there and sell and do what it needed to do. So at 200,000, it crashed, so it was like a heartbreak back then.” Billy says things got better when he released his next album Doin’ Something Right and the title song went gold. “I think, ‘Wow! We’re on our way to platinum,’ ” he says. “Then all of a sudden, sales just dropped for some strange reason, and I was told we had to move on to the next album. And that just crushed me. It broke my heart…when you’re a songwriter and you dream this big dream for years and years and it doesn’t happen.” Billy told his label, ‘Just put another song out there and I know it’ll go platinum.’ And they were so nice. My record label was so good to me. They were like, “All right, Billy. You want to put the turnip greens song out there, let’s put it out there.” And they did and they got behind it. And we’re sitting at platinum. It’s such a cool experience to see it happen like that.” Now Billy has learned to deal with the ups and downs of the business. “It always feels like you’ve just gotta keep working,” he says, “which is good for me, ’cause if I ain’t working it’s like my grandma said, ‘Idle time is the devil’s workshop’ and I’ll get in trouble.
