(July 18, 2016) – Since the release of Kenny Rogers’ first-ever Christmas album back in 1981 titled Christmas, Rogers has embarked on an annual Christmas & Hits Tour where he performs holiday favorites and a large selection of hits at concerts across North America. Rogers announced late last year on NBC’s Today show that the world tour he is currently on would be his final time performing around the globe. So this year’s 35th edition of his annual Christmas & Hits tour, with special guest Linda Davis, will indeed be his last. After more than five decades of touring and entertaining the world, Rogers’ farewell tour, “The Gambler’s Last Deal,” is underway and expected to run into 2017 due to popular demand. “Christmas has always been a special time of year to me,” Rogers said. “The feeling I get performing on the Christmas tour is one of the things I’ll really miss about not being on the road. We will be sure to take extra time to cherish some moments on this last go around, and I hope as many people as possible will be able to join us in creating a new set of holiday memories.” For his upcoming Christmas & Hits tour dates, Rogers will perform holiday favorites, selections from his 2015 Christmas album Once Again It’s Christmas and of course his well-known hits at concerts across the U.S. The tour currently includes 16 dates. Making this final Christmas tour experience even more special, a very limited number of VIP ticket packages will be offered, allowing fans the opportunity to meet Rogers and receive one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Two types of VIP packages will be available for each show of the tour. The song concludes the album. The new project was produced by Kyle Lehning and Hartman, who were joined by Darren Rust as co-producer for the song, “Children, Go Where I Send Thee.” Steve Sundholm and Jim Brickman produced “That Silent Night.” The Once Again It’s Christmas album cover art, unveiled here for the first time, is a photo taken by Rogers that he entitled “Red Tree.” He captured the wintry scene while shooting in Yakima, Washington, in December 2003. Rogers received an Honorary Masters of Photography Degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in 2014 for his contributions to the world of photography. “I can’t tell you how much fun it’s been doing another Christmas album—it’s my favorite time of year. Recording a project like this means I was able to re-live some old memories singing some of the songs I was raised listening to and grew to love as a child. The process also allowed me to make many new memories working with some very talented people. I’m excited about all of the special guests who joined me for this, and hope you enjoy it, too,” Rogers said. The past several years have been some of the most active, creative, and rewarding of Rogers’ entire storied career. Once Again It’s Christmas will be Rogers’ third full studio release of all new recordings since 2011. In 2014, Rogers received his latest GRAMMY® Award nomination with Dolly Parton for “You Can’t Make Old Friends,” and in 2014 and 2015, Rogers’ career was showcased in a year-long exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Kenny Rogers Takes Capital Records to Court

Kenny Rogers Is Suing Label Capital Records! Just when we thought the legal shenanigans in Nashville were calming down, another lawsuit hits the fan. This time its Kenny Rogers suing the label, Capital Records. Reportedly, Rogers claims that the label is in break on contract for underpaying royalties to the singer. These royalties apply to the selling digital downloads and ringtones. Apparently, there is some small print dictating how the profit from these things is split between label and artist, and Kenny thinks things are being shared fairly to the tune of an underpayment of over $400,000! That’s quite a chunk of change! The court date is set for May 21st. What do you think about all this? Its hard to say really with such few details, and without a law degree, but let us know what you think anyway!

Kenny Rogers on FOX Business Network

Kenny Rogers makes a guest appearance on FOX Business Network Kenny Rogers spoke with FOX Business Network’s Charles Payne about the niche he has in the country music market and how he can’t compete with Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney, but they’re too young to do what he does. Below are excerpts from the interview: On what kind of artist he is: “As far as musically goes, I think I’m boxed in to who I am and what I do best, and I try not to compete in areas that I don’t feel I can compete in. I think I’m an excellent story teller and I have always said if you give me a song that touches me I think I can make it touch you.” On comparing himself to current popular country artists: “As far as going out there and doing the heavy country rock, I can’t compete with Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney and those guys, so I don’t try. I mean, I do what I do best. Honestly, I think they’re too young to do what I do, so it’s a nice niche I have.” To see the full interview, follow this link.
