Kenny Rogers Takes Capital Records to Court

Kenny Rogers Is Suing Label Capital Records!

Just when we thought the legal shenanigans in Nashville were calming down, another lawsuit hits the fan. This time its Kenny Rogers suing the label, Capital Records. Reportedly, Rogers claims that the label is in break on contract for underpaying royalties to the singer. These royalties apply to the selling digital downloads and ringtones. Apparently, there is some small print dictating how the profit from these things is split between label and artist, and Kenny thinks things are being shared fairly to the tune of an underpayment of over $400,000! That’s quite a chunk of change! The court date is set for May 21st.

What do you think about all this? Its hard to say really with such few details, and without a law degree, but let us know what you think anyway!
