Bella Lam is putting a country spin on holiday engagement season with “Slow As Christmas,” arriving Friday, November 6, 2026. The new single follows someone waiting for a very particular gift: a proposal.

Bella Lam. Photo credit: Joey Schrader.

Lam co-wrote the song with Kayliann Lowe and Bill DiLuigi. Lowell Reynolds produced the recording at Blackbird Studio, with session leader Justin Ostrander and fiddle player Jenee Fleenor among the musicians involved.

A different kind of Christmas wish list

Rather than revisiting a seasonal standard, Lam’s upcoming release builds its holiday story around a relationship waiting for the next step. The title turns a familiar expression into the central idea: December is moving along, and the person holding the ring could stand to pick up the pace.

The announcement describes the single as a playful take on waiting for someone to pop the question. Fans can pre-save “Slow As Christmas” here ahead of November 6.

More about Bella Lam

The Nashville-born Asian-American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has been building her audience through original releases and live performances. Her summer single “Bootfirst” preceded the new holiday song.
