Formed in 2006 by longtime friends from Augusta, GA, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood and Nashville native Hillary Scott after a chance meeting at a downtown music City watering hole, Lady Antebellum blend contemporary country with soulful ’60s rhythm & blues into an infectious modern brew that relies on the trio’s rich harmonies and impeccable instrumental skills. Since its inception, the trio has gone from dive bars to the Grand Ole Opry, opening for Phil Vassar, Rodney Atkins, and Carrie Underwood. The band signed with Capitol Nashville in 2007 and released its first single, “Love Don’t Live Here.” Lady Antebellum’s eponymous Victoria Shaw and Paul Worley-produced full-length debut came in April 2008.

Lady Antebellum Performs On Dancing With The Stars. Lady Antebellum stopped by the set of ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars Tuesday, November 22nd episode to perform both old and new music! The trio first performed one of the tracks off their new album, “Dancing Away With My Heart“, and then also had the chance to sing their Grammy winning hit, “Need You Now“. Lady Antebellum Own The Night Album Review

Lady Antebellum Undisputedly Owned This Album! With the first few notes of the title track onLady Antebellum‘s third studio album, Own The Night, I am filled with happiness. Throughout the entire album I never lose this emotion. Let me describe it another way. I am a runner, and when I find music I really love, music that fills my heart up, it makes me want to throw on my running shoes and hit the pavement. This album does this for me. Lady Antebellum has delivered a wonderful new album with 12 tracks that range from quick and fun (“Friday Night“; “Singing Me Home“) to mellow and sentimental (“Wanted You More“; “As You Turn Away“). One thing that can easily be said of Lady A is that they have a very definite and recognizable sound that sets them apart. I have been trying to think of how to describe this, and the best way I can think of is simply that their sound is a little more than mainstream country, it has a kind of folksy, earthy quality to it as well. You can hear this in the rhythms and lyrics of their songs, and it is explicitly exemplified with a lovely solo of flutes at the end of “Cold As Stone“. What I’m really saying is that Lady A’s music has depth! Another signature quality of this trio’s music is how well-written it is (On this album, they wrote or co-wrote ten of the twelve songs). They manage to take themes and stories that could easily be cliche, and find poetic and engaging new ways to treat the content. “Cold As Stone” addresses coping with heartbreak and loss, and the chorus “wish I was cold as stone/then I wouldn’t feel a thing” conjures a strong and immediately relatable image. “Dancin’ Away With My Heart” at one point describes a teenage dance which could easily sound trite, but with the line “beneath the moon that was really a disco ball” becomes heartwarming. When you only have two to four minutes to share a story, being able to pack meaning into the few words you have, like Lady Antebellum does, goes a long way to creating a quality music. I truly enjoy every track on this album. However, if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be “Friday Night“. The gist of the song is that love should be exciting and fun not just every day, same old thing. With lyrics like “I don’t want to be another chore to check off on your list”, “I want to be your jackpot, hot spot” “I want to set you free/I want to take you high/I want to be your Friday night” and an upbeat tempo, it is sure to get your boot tapping. I see myself riding down the road with the windows down and this song blaring! All in all, Own The Night, is exactly what it should be. Lady A Releases Complete Line-Up of 2012 Own The Night Tour Dates! Lady Antebellum has officially released the line-up for the initial six month leg of their 2012 Own The Night Tour! The tour will kick-off in Tulsa, OK on January 27th and so far, is scheduled to run through June 29th in Indianapolis, IN. For a complete list of dates, see the list below! The members of Lady A have been on a roll recently, and they are understandably excited about this tour! Charles spoke for the group, sharing how they have gotten the opportunity to be more involved with this tour, and how they are really getting to take a completely hands on approach to building an amazing show for fans! “This is the tour we’ve always dreamed of putting together. CMT Artists Of The Year

CMT Reveals Their Artists Of The Year. CMT will honor Jason Aldean, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley as the top artists of the year. CMT Artists Of The Year will premier December 13 at 9:00pm ET/PT and will last 90 minutes. The honorees were chosen by ranking them based on the following criteria: sales (physical albums, digital albums and single downloads); country radio airplay based on spins; concert grosses as a headliner or co-headliner; and activity on cmt.com (video streams, searches, and artist page views). The rankings were then compiled to identify the leading performers across the four categories cumulatively. Congratulations to the 5 acts that will be celebrated in early December! Lady Antebellum’s “We Owned The Night” Video Is Here! It seems like only yesterday Lady Antebellum released the video for “Just A Kiss“, but yet this busy trio has done it again. The music video for “We Owned The Night” was released earlier this week and we have it here for you to watch! The song and video is simply about a perfect night! Doesn’t matter what happened before or what happens after, living in the moment is the focus of these lyrics! The video is basically one huge party with people who are living by Lady A’s new motto of owning the night! Who doesn’t love a night full of dancing and fireworks?! Lady Antebellum Featured on GAC-TV

Lady Antebellum Is The Focus for Upcoming GAC-TV Special! Lady Antebellum gets up close and personal in an upcoming television special feature on GAC-TV. In light of the avalanche of success the trio has experienced over the past year, from public (winning 5 grammys!) to personal (Hillary Scotty got engaged!), and the impending release of their next studio album, Own The Night, on Tuesday, September 13th. GAC thought it was the right about time to take a closer look at Lady A! The episode gets the scoop on how the three (Hillary, Charles and Dave) got together in the first place and decided to start Lady A, and the rise to stardom which followed. It also features interviews with the group, performance videos, conversations with family members, and never before seen childhood photos! For the die hard Lady A fans or for those who want to get to know the group a little better, this is sure to be an interesting segment! The episode airs on GAC-TV Sunday, September 11th at 8pm(ET). You can also catch Lady Antebellum’s performance on September 8th at the pre-game show for the “NFL Kick-Off 2011” at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI. The show will air on NBC at 7:30pm (ET).

Lady Antebellum Featured in Next Issue of Billboard Magazine. With the upcoming release of their third album, Own the Night, quickly approaching (release date is September 13!), we’ve been talking about Lady Antebellum a lot this week! But it turns out, we’re not the only ones who can’t stop thinking about Lady A! The trio is featured in the latest issue of the music industry magazine, Billboard. The feature is titled “Country’s Sexiest Success Story Is Back“, and while I’m not sure if “sexiest” is the most applicable adjective, “success story” is spot on! Since 2006 when Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley first formed the group, they have released two successful albums (The second of which sold 3.6 million copies and spawned the immensely popular cross-over hit, “Need You Now“.) and won 5 Grammys! In the article, Lady A sat down in Nashville to discuss the experiences over their career, their success and all that comes along with it! A Behind The Scenes Look at Lady A’s Upcoming Album and Tour! Lady Antebellum‘s upcoming album Own The Night will release in less than a month. The album will be available to fans on Tuesday, September 13th. Of the twelve tracks featured on this album, the group’s single “Just A Kiss” has already become a success in the industry and with fans! All three of the band members were completely involved in the process of creating this album from writing 10 out of the 12 songs on the track listing to the co-producer credit each claims.
