Barbara Mandrell, a true country music legend, becomes the first woman to be inducted into the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Barbara Mandrell, the “Sweetheart of Steel” has been honored by the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, who celebrated her induction this past Saturday. Miss Mandrell has been playing steel guitar since the tender age of ten, and appeared on The Johnny Cash Show at just 13! Zac Brown Band Benefit Show for Georgia Theater

Zac Brown Band will perform a benefit concert in their hometown of Atlanta, GA on OCTOBER 30th at the Fox Theatre All proceeds from the show will go toward the rebuilding of the historic Georgia Theatre in Athens, which was destroyed in a fire earlier this year. The “movie-palace-turned-music-club” hosted performances in the past from bands like R.E.M., B-52s, Drive By Truckers and Widespread Panic. Next month, Country group KENTUCKY HEADHUNTERS will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their multi-platinum, GRAMMY award-winning album, “Pickin’ On Nashville.” To celebrate, the group will release a new album, “Authorized Bootleg: Live At Agora Ballroom,” on MERCURY/NASHVILLE on SEPTEMBER 22nd. Luke Bryan Kicks Off Farm Tour

Luke Bryan could be playing at a farmhouse near you as he announces his 2009 Farm Tour! Luke Bryan has just announced his first Farm Tour show on October 5 in Statesboro, Georgia. The concept for this tour came from Bryan as his way to give back to local farming communities. These special one-off shows will continue throughout Bryan’s career with additional dates already planned for 2010. Further details on these Farm Tour shows will be announced at a later time. GAC’s Top 20 will film their show on site in Statesboro. “Being from a rural farming community, the Farm Tour is something I have envisioned for a very long time,” says Bryan. “I love the thought of setting up on a farm and building our own little world, starting small and growing it each time. We can never do enough to bring awareness to the hard working farmers of this country.” The October 5 Farm Tour concert will be held at Hurricane Plantation in Claxton, Georgia, just outside of Statesboro, with proceeds going to a scholarship fund for students at Georgia Southern University, where Luke Bryan graduated from.
