Come Over Takes The Number 1 Spot

Josh Osborne’s Writing Skills Land Him A #1 Song With “Come Over.” On stands now, Country Weekly’s August 20 issue features Black River Publishing writer Josh Osborne with Shane McAnally and Sam Hunt as the songwriters of Kenny Chesney’s multi-week number one, “Come Over.” Certified Gold in just over nine weeks, “Come Over” is the fastest Gold single certification in Chesney’s career and the first number one for Osborne. In addition to “Come Over,” Josh also co-wrote Chris Young’s current single, “Neon,” and the Lost Trailers’ single, “American Beauty.” On August 2, “American Beauty” was featured during a Late Night In London montage celebrating American gymnast and gold medalist Gabby Douglas. Josh Osborne, Mason Douglas and Matt Jenkins specifically tailored the lyrics for the segment honoring Gabby on Dial Global Sports, the exclusive national radio broadcaster for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Osborne’s songwriting has also made its mark in Hollywood. Pop star Katy Perry took special notice of “Merry Go ‘Round,” the debut single from new artist Kacey Musgraves. She recently raved via a tweet to her 25 million international followers, “I love this song/video by Kacey Musgraves…GREAT chorus.” As well as the current singles, Josh also has cuts on albums by Love and Theft, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Randy Rogers Band, Gwen Sebastian, Due West, Greg Bates and Sarah Darling.

Jake Owen Endless Summer EP

Jake Owen Will Be Releasing A New EP! Jake Owen will be releasing Endless Summer, his upcoming 4-track EP on September 25. “It’s been almost a year since our album, Barefoot Blue Jean Night, came out. And, I started thinking that I really wanted to put out a few new tunes that had a summer vibe. So, we decided to cut four songs and put out an EP entitled Endless Summer. No one ever really wants the summer to end, right? Hopefully, these songs will be ones that keep the party going into the fall and people will crank them up loud when they are out on the water enjoying their own Endless Summer.” -Owen Jake unofficially announced that he was recording a four-song EP at his Fan Club party during CMA Music Fest. At the party, he let his fans hear a sneak peek of the EP by playing them one song that he had already recorded entitled “Summer Jam,” which was written by the duo Florida Georgia Line along with award-winning songwriter Craig Wiseman. Also, Jake earns his first executive producer credit on this EP. Joey Moi, who produced Jake’s No. 1 hit singles “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” and “Alone With You,” as well as his current single “The One That Got Away,” is the producer on all four tracks. Below is the artwork for the EP and a video that features Jake talking about the new project! Enjoy!

Sarah Darling New Release

Sarah Darling’s Latest Single, “Home To Me.” Sarah Darling’s current single, “Home To Me,” will be released for purchase on iTunes August 21, next Tuesday. I have to say that I really enjoy this song. It has a very easy-listening vibe to it. It was written by Caitlyn Smith and Bobby Hamrick and is about comparing a love to “the beauty of America’s landscape.” “Got a heart like Indiana Laugh like Louisiana Take me down to Alabama Show me some of the laid back vibe Kissin’ while we’re fishin’ in the moonlight” Be sure to be listening for “Home To Me” on country radio and pick up the single next week!

Phillip Phillips Home Video

The Official Music Video For Phillip Phillips’ “Home.” Here is the official music video for “Home.” Phillip Phillips was the season 11 winner of American Idol and although he isn’t what we would call country, we think there is a place for him on our site. Phillips, who I would call more of a folk singer, showcases his voice and guitar skills in this first release. The video for “Home” is below. So take a look and tell us what you think!

Craig Morgan Releases More Trucks Than Cars

Craig Morgan Is Set To Release A Brand New Single, “More Truck Than Cars.” Craig Morgan will release his latest single, “More Trucks Than Cars,” from his recent album This Ole Boy in upcoming days. Written by Morgan with Phil O’Donnell and Craig Wiseman, the song is an anthem for the southern lifestyle, depicted in stars that light the night sky, biscuits, grits and gravy, ‘Ole Glory’ flying high and a landscape where you’ll sooner spot a truck before you see a car. And Morgan can wholeheartedly relate to his lyric “meanwhile back in Tennessee we’re raising our babies and our own green beans.” Craig Morgan’s “More Trucks Than Cars” is available today via PlayMPE for airplay on country radio with an August 27 impact date. The song is equally relatable to metropolitan areas of the U.S. where there is no shortage of hard-working Americans and a touch of the southern lifestyle is a hot commodity. While in New York earlier this year, Morgan was surprised at the number of trucks he spotted amongst the sea of yellow cabs in Manhattan.

Taylor Swift New Album Red Details

Get Details On Taylor Swift’s New Album Red Via Live Chat! Tonight Taylor Swift hosted a LIVE google chat to make some very important announcements! We had our guesses on what she had up her sleeve, and we’re happy to say that…we are NOT disappointed! Taylor answered questions from fans who had gathered in person from around the world to be a part of the chat broadcast in Nashville, and responded to fans from Brazil to Sweden via google chat! She had a lot of info to share and you can catch the recap below! Basically, Swift let everyone know that she will be releasing a brand new album on October 22nd (two whole years in the making) titled Red that will include 16 tracks! Right off the bat she had a lot to say about the inspiration for the album saying: “my world kind of becomes a big storyboard…and everyone in it has the potential to become characters…” -Taylor Swift She also let us know that the meaning behind the title “red” comes from the strong emotions she has (or had) regarding what she referred to as “semi-toxic relationships” she’s experienced. But her relationships aren’t the only ones ending up as lyrics, Swift suggests she pulled from the experiences she watched her friends go through too. Additionally, Taylor addressed the collaborative effort behind the album, discussing how many of the songs are co-written. Letting fans know that she got to work with some of her favorite people in the industry, Swift filled us in on how she wanted to move in a different direction from her last album, Speak Now. Spoiler: one of the people she collaborated with is Ed Sheeran, and the song they worked on was recorded as a duet! (I wonder if there are any OTHER duets…hmmmm….) From other answers to fan questions we learned that Taylor will be globe trotting pretty soon hitting up lots of different place, specifically including NYC during the release week of her album. We also got an inside track on what its like to be in the spotlight and deal with “false rumors”. Ooooooh weeee, that’s a lot of info! On top of all that, to conclude the chat, Taylor debuted (LIVE) her brand new single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together“. Admittedly, this is not a country song, but much more pop…even for Tswift. Yet, I still have faith there will be at least a few country hits out of the 16 total songs on the upcoming album! We are super excited about the new album, and can’t wait to hear what else Taylor has in store for fans! Check out these shots from the Live Chat!
