Pistol Annies Hunger Games Track, “Run Daddy Run”

Listen to Pistol Annies’ Tune Featured on Hunger Games Soundtrack! Miranda Lambert is among the artists featured on the soundtrack of upcoming teen fiction sensation turned film, The Hunger Games! Lambert along with Pistol Annies bandmates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley sing the mournful (well, considering the context of the film, most of the songs on this album are mournful…) and haunting “Run Daddy Run“. As usual their harmony is absolutely perfect! You can get a sneak peak at the trio’s track below! The album is currently available for pre-order and is “expected” (that’s iTunes’ phrasing) to release on March 20th. As you probably already know, fellow country crooners Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars are also featured on the soundtrack with single “Safe and Sound“. Miranda Lambert And Kelly Clarkson On The Voice

Miranda Lambert And Kelly Clarkson Lend A Helping Hand To Team Blake! Last night was the first night of the “Battle Rounds” on NBC‘s hit show, The Voice! During this time the coaches of each team pair up two members to “battle” each other for one spot closer to the finale. Blake Shelton, CMNB’s favorite coach, got the help of two very talented female artists to mentor his team. Miranda Lambert, country super-star and wife of Shelton, and Kelly Clarkson, vocal powerhouse and friend of Shelton were the perfect artists to share some advice! This week Lambert helped hopefuls RaeLynn and Jordis, while Clarkson worked with Adley and Brian. Both of these successful, Texas women had encouraging and helpful word to share, but when it came to RaeLynn and “Free Fallin’” Lambert said, “It’s not about competing with someone, it’s about competing with yourself!” The wise words must have worked because the 17-year-old RaeLynn won the battle over Adley. The second battle for Team Blake didn’t go so smooth. During rehearsals, Jordis asked the question of what she could do to win, Shelton answered, “Whichever one of ya’ just flat-out-sings the other person will win.” Well….Christina Aguilera said that the performance was pitchy and Shelton agreed! He actually said “it sucked,” and I have to say he gave a pretty accurate description. The song was “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette (a mentor for Team Adam) and both Jordis and Brian seemed to have a little trouble with it. In the end Jordis won the fight and made it one round closer to the prize. The other mentors for the night were Alanis Morissette and Robin Thicke for Adam Levine’s team, Babyface and Ne-Yo for Cee Lo Green’s team and Lionel Richie and Jewel (another of my favorites) for Team Christina! Each coach had to eliminate one member from their team during the battle rounds, which means the competetion is slowly getting tougher! Keep watching The Voice on Mondays at 8/7c on NBC!

Miranda Lambert Over You Music Video

Here Is The Official Music Video For Miranda Lambert’s Latest Single, “Over You!” The Lambert/Shelton families have dealt with a lot of loss over the last few months and it comes as a coincidence that “Over You” was released when it was. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton co-wrote the emotional song, which is about the passing of Shelton’s older brother Richie. Shelton has said many times that he could have never recorded it himself because of the pain it would cause him to sing it on stage every night. The song is very powerful and every time I hear it, it strikes an emotional chord with me (that’s the thing about country lyrics, so many people can relate in their own way). The first time I saw the video I had full on goosebumps! From the back-story of the song to the cemetery setting…this is definitely a video you have to see! So here it is, grab some tissues and watch! “Over You” can be found on Lambert’s album Four The Record.

Chris Young Earns 5th #1 Single

Chris Young Has Earned His 5th Consecutive #1 Single! Chris Young has had a great deal of deserving success in the recent months. He has been nominated for Male Vocalist of the year and Single Record of the year for his hit, “Tomorrow,” for the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Young has joined ACM Awards co-host and “The Voice” star Blake Shelton as one of only two solo artists to top Billboard’s Hot Country Song chart with their five most recent singles as “You” surges to the top this week. “I am ecstatic! I’ve been excited for each #1 and to have five in a row feels amazing.” -Young “You” was written by Young with Luke Laird, is the follow up to his #1 smash “Tomorrow” from his highly acclaimed third album NEON, which opened at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 in July of 2011. The song has racked up over 350,000 downloads. The singer/songwriter’s four previous chart toppers include “Tomorrow,” “Gettin’ You Home,” “Voices” and the title track to his 2009 gold certified sophomore album, The Man I Want To Be.
