<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The invitation arrived through video messages from <a title="Jordan Davis" href="https://stubhub.prf.hn/click/camref:1100ljXyr/pubref:WPSJDavis/ar:CMNBAutoLink/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fjordan+davis-tickets%2F">Jordan Davis</a>, <a title="HARDY" href="https://stubhub.prf.hn/click/camref:1100ljXyr/pubref:WPSHardy/ar:CMNBAutoLink/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fhardy-tickets%2F">HARDY</a> and James&#8217; parents. Those voices connect several parts of his story: the family who supported him, the artist who helped bring his songwriting to a wider audience, and the publishing relationship behind his growing catalog.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A childhood wish reaches the Opry stage</h2>

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;When I was a kid, I asked to play <a title="the Grand Ole Opry" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/category/the-grand-ole-opry/">the Grand Ole Opry</a> for my birthday,&#8221; said James. &#8220;Well, the best my parents could do was take me to a karaoke bar, and they got me a pillow that had <a title="the Opry" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/category/the-grand-ole-opry/">the Opry</a> sewn on it.&#8221;</p>
</blockquote>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">James said the pillow stayed on his bed until he moved to Nashville. The invitation turns that childhood attachment into a performance in <a title="the Opry" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/category/the-grand-ole-opry/">the Opry</a>&#8217;s famous circle.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Fans can watch <a href="https://www.instagram.com/greylanjames/reel/DeZdztjxqsy/">the invitation shared by James</a> and find show information through <a href="https://www.opry.com/">the Grand Ole Opry</a>.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">From writing hits to introducing his own album</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">James co-wrote <a title="Jordan Davis" href="https://stubhub.prf.hn/click/camref:1100ljXyr/pubref:WPSJDavis/ar:CMNBAutoLink/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fjordan+davis-tickets%2F">Jordan Davis</a>&#8217; &#8220;Next Thing You Know,&#8221; which brought him an ACM Song of the Year award. <a title="HARDY" href="https://stubhub.prf.hn/click/camref:1100ljXyr/pubref:WPSHardy/ar:CMNBAutoLink/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fhardy-tickets%2F">HARDY</a> also has a connection to his career through Relative Music Group, where James signed a publishing deal.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The upcoming album includes 13 original tracks, all co-written by James, plus a Dolly Parton cover. James produced or co-produced 11 of the original songs, according to the release announcement. His own dog, Knox, appears on the cover.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Water At A Wedding&#8221; is part of the growing artist catalog that brings him to this moment. The album gives fans a fuller introduction to the person behind songs they may already know from other performers.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">More dates ahead</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">His first headlining run, <em>Wedding Season: The Tour</em>, begins November 6 in Huntington, West Virginia, with Carson Wallace announced as a special guest. CountryMusicNewsBlog.com readers can find <a href="https://www.greylanjames.com/">album pre-save links and current dates on James&#8217; official website</a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For now, October 24 is the date that turns a childhood birthday wish into an Opry debut.</p>
