HENRIETTE conjures Indian Summer with her soulful warm Country Pop single “Dream Boy” in the lyric video
“Dream Boy” is the title of the debut single of the vocalist, who just returned from America’s Country music capital, Nashville, and who likes to deal with the topic of ‘freedom’ in her songs. Especially in this song HENRIETTE sings about freedom in a romantic relationship, which is often not easy for us. It’s about being ascent instead of descent, giving each other wings, supporting each other’s dreams, to love and trust with the wisdom of a child as well as to appreciate people for who they are. “Dream Boy” is the perfect song to turn up the radio while driving on the highway, windows wide open, soaking in the good vibes of Indian Summer – catchy tunes included. Pure, real, simple, without filter, that’s how HENRIETTE considers herself. She grew up in a small town in the wild west of Germany and practically got the music instilled with her mother’s milk. She doesn’t use an artist name, because she sings from heart to heart and just wants to be herself. Listening to her urging inner voice, HENRIETTE packs her suitcases in 2018, drops everything, flies to Nashville Tennessee and dives into the music scene there. She begins writing songs, performs, takes voice lessons, establishes contacts. Only three weeks after her arrival, the two producers Jay Tooke, drummer of the legendary band The Steel Woods and James Robertson, well-known guitarist for e.g. Lindi Ortega, Dragonette, Brandi Disterheft, Clyde Stubblefield, become aware of her during a songwriting session. Back in Germany in 2019, she has a lot of stories and her debut EP under her belt, which will be available early 2020 through Dr. Music Records. Sounds like a fairy tale, also feels like one.
Those who would like to hear “Dream Boy” live can experience HENRIETTE as a soloist in the new show ‘Woodstock’ at the Wintergarten Varieté in Berlin until October 27th, 2019 where she also presents her first single as part of the performance.
With her single “Dream Boy” the German musician HENRIETTE, who graduated with honors in popular music – Jazz/Musical studies at the University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig in 2013 and since then has been involved in major theatre productions and musicals, provides a breath of fresh air in the Country Pop scene.
