On May 20, Riser House Records and Warner Canada artist Meghan Patrick will tap into her softer side and celebrate her upcoming nuptials with the release of “My Left Hand.”
Available today (5.6) for fans to pre-save here, the tune became a viral moment for the back-to-back CCMA Female Artist of the Year when she first previewed it on TikTok this past December — garnering more than 4.4 Million views and quickly becoming the soundtrack to hundreds of fan-created videos about their own journeys to forever.
Written by Patrick alongside Heather Morgan and Thomas Salter, the thoughtful track serves as an ode to Patrick’s own love story with fellow country hitmaker and fiancé, Mitchell Tenpenny — spotlighting her rarely-seen vulnerable side, while also remaining true to Patrick’s rough and rowdy, rebel roots through unexpected lyrical twists that wouldn’t normally find their way into a wedding tune.
“‘My Left Hand’ has really taken on a life of its own, and it all started on TikTok” Patrick explains. “Most of my fans are in the same phase of life that I’m in, getting engaged and settling down, so it really resonated with them from the very beginning — not to mention, after so many weddings were postponed during the height of the pandemic, this song became extra special for those couples who are finally getting the chance to walk down the aisle this year, myself included.”
Announcing her engagement this past November, the 18x CMAOntario Award-winner has been busy planning her upcoming trip down the aisle, which is set to take place later this year, and she’s looking forward to turning the page on a new chapter — not only in her love life, but also in her music.
