<h3>Arrangements for Grand Ole Opry Star Mel McDaniel</h3>
<p>A memorial service, open to the public, will be held to honor Grand Ole Opry star <strong>Mel McDaniel</strong> Wednesday, April 13th, 2pm-4pm at <a title="the Grand Ole Opry" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/category/the-grand-ole-opry/">the Grand Ole Opry</a> House. </p>
<p>Hailing from Tulsa, OK, Mel was known for hit singles like &#8220;Have a Dream on Me&#8221; and &#8220;Baby&#8217;s Got Her Blue Jeans On&#8221; which was nominated for a Grammy. A member of <a title="the Opry" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/category/the-grand-ole-opry/">the Opry</a> since 1986, he performed regularly throughout the 90&#8217;s and 2000&#8217;s. His last performance was an all cast sing at the September 28th, 2010 reopening of <a title="the Opry" href="https://countrymusicontour.com/category/the-grand-ole-opry/">the Opry</a> House. </p>
<p>McDaniel passed away at the age of 68 on March 31st in his in Hendersonville, TN from complications of lung cancer. He is survived by one daughter and one grandson.</p>
