May 1, 2020 – Ned LeDoux took home Buckle trophies for Album of the Year for Next In Line and shared Songwriter of the Year with Corb Lund for Ned’s “Dance With Your Spurs On” single at last weekend’s 4th Annual Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards. The show was originally scheduled to take place March 13 in Greeley, CO, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced the show to be presented virtually. A complete list of winners can be found here.
“It’s such an honor to accept these buckles (the traditional RMCMA trophy) for Songwriter of the Year and Album of the Year,” said Ned on his Facebook page, who accepted the awards while at home in Kansas. “I’ve had a lot of help along the way to get to this point. To everyone involved, thank you, thank you, thank you!”
This brings Ned’s total RMCMA nods to five. Voters presented him with Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year for Sagebrush in 2019 and Male Vocalist of the Year in 2018. Ned’s producer, Mac McAnally, received the Chris LeDoux Lifetime Achievement Award last year, and the organization’s highest honor was presented to Dierks Bentley this year. The online show also featured new artist Ingrid Andress performing her #1 hit, and Big & Rich presenting Stephanie Quayle with Female Vocalist of the Year, all from their respective homes.
Ned was well into 2020 touring – with a string of sold-out shows – when COVID-19 forced his Dance With Your Spurs On Tour Presented By Just LeDoux It Spirits off the road.
