Grand Ole Opry Returns to TV with Opry Live On GAC.
The Grand Ole Opry will be making a return to television with a line-up of six star-studded episodes of “Opry Live” on GAC this fall. The first of the six episodes, and 80th birthday commemoration for George Jones, will be airing on October 4th and will include performances by Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, The Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Ann Womack and others.
Other episodes will include performances by a string of country favorites like Trace Adkins, Lauren Alaina, Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Sara Evans, Martina McBride, Ronnie Dunn, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood and more. Airdates and details on the other five shows will be announced at a later date.
So, make sure you catch the first episode on October 4th and stay tuned for more details. I mean if you can’t make it to Nashville to see these types of performances live, I guess the next best thing would be watching them in the comfort of your own home.
I was very excited after reading this blog, I used to LOVE watching taped performances of the Grand Ole Opry. Finally I will be able to again. I wanted to comment on this, since I’m not a Nashville native, I have never been to the Opry before. That is all about to change this Saturday because my mother bought me and my roommate backstage passes to go see and meet (who we both have idolized since childhood) Dolly Parton. I could not be more ecstatic about it! I grew up always being such a huge fan of Dolly Parton and of the Grand ole opry and basically my life will be complete after this saturday.
Will Keith Urbans’ performances be shown? I certainly hope so, he is sooooooo talented.
