Lionel Richie Tuskegee Album

Lionel Richie will release Tuskegee, a collection of 13 of his international hits recorded with some of the biggest names in country music, on March 27 on Mercury Nashville. Lionel Richie’s duet partners include Jennifer Nettles, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Little Big Town, Shania Twain, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffett. Tuskegee is an exciting new chapter in a career that has seen album sales of more than 100 million, 22 Top 10s, fifty Grammys, an Academy Award for Best Original Song, a Golden Globe and a host of other awards. Tuskegee is also a musical homecoming that feels like a heartwarming reunion with a beloved friend. He proves that you can go home again as he returns to his Southern roots to pay tribute to his hometown of Tuskegee, Alabama, where he was shaped as a man and a musician. He was exposed to country, gospel, R&B and classical music growing up and this town is where he helped form the Commodores and wrote his first hits, including “Sail On” and “Easy.” “Tuskegee is where it all began, the place where I felt all things were available and possible. It’s where I learned about life and love and the power of music, and the place I built a musical foundation that knows no genres or boundaries.” -Richie Richie is following his songs as they take him back to country, where they have been welcomed for more than two decades. Conway Twitty recorded “Three Times A Lady,” Kenny Rogers famously sang “Lady” and Alabama recorded “Deep River Woman.” He has performed on the Country Music Association Awards three times, his 2011 performance received two standing ovations. Richie says recording Tuskegee was perhaps the most fun he has ever had in the studio. “Tuskegee is going to be one of the most special albums I’ve ever done in my life. This is something that is going to be so special forever because it’s a moment in time when all these artists got together and celebrated some music. What started out as a collaboration of a group of very talented, very successful artists ended up growing into brand new, very good friends.” April 2, a concert special, Lionel Richie and Friends “In Concert,” will be recorded in Las Vegas and aired on CBS at a later date. The show will include Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Martina McBride, Lady Antebellum, Kenny Rogers and more! Tuskegee Track Listing 1. You Are – with Blake Shelton 2. Does Garth Brooks Deserve His $1 Million Settlement? The final ruling in the court case between Garth Brooks and an Oklahoma hospital came down, and Brooks was awarded a whopping $1 million! The first $500,000 accounts for the donation Brooks gave the hospital to fund the construction of a women’s wing which would bare the name of Brooks’ late mother. The hospital never made this wing, hence the court case. The other half of the million was awarded to Brooks for punitive damages. HaleighT is here to fill you in on whether or not she thinks Garth deserves such a large settlement. Check out what she has to say and tell us what YOU think! Kellie Pickler 100 Proof Album Review

Why You Need To Listen To Kellie Pickler’s New Album Now! Kellie Pickler‘s new album, 100 Proof released today! This is the first album we have seen from Pickler since her self-titled album in 2008, and it was well worth the wait. Since her American Idol debut, Kellie admits she has grown quite a bit, and this album proves that she is an artist in her own right. “When I auditioned for American Idol I was not an artist. So from Idol to the first record to this record, I really tried to find myself because there’s a difference between a singer and an artist.” -Kellie Pickler That evolution is definitely audible on 100 Proof, and I would like to give you the Top 3 Reasons why you should listen to (and possibly purchase!) Pickler’s new album right now. Reason #1 Classic Country Vibe One thing I hear a lot of country music fans say is that country music like they know it, doesn’t really exist anymore. It seems more and more that what hits mainstream country music stations is a fusion of pop, country and well, other things. These country fans who are aching for that classic country sound will be pleased with 100 Proof. While it isn’t truly traditional country, it is very much playing homage to that sound that a lot of country fans grew up on. With heroes like Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Tammy Wynette, it’s hardly shocking that this vibe would be so prevalent on Pickler’s album. From the whining guitar on the title track to the twang in Kellie’s voice and the instrumentals on “Where’s Tammy Wynette” and “Little House On The Highway“, fans will no doubt be pleased with the overall effect. There is also a healthy dose of fiddle and banjo thrown in here and there throughout the whole album which is never a bad thing. Another clue that this album is rooted in old-school country is Kellie’s ode to the honky tonk with her “Unlock That Honky Tonk” track. One lyric literally pleads “Don’t tell me country’s gone…”. That one is definitely going to be a summer concert favorite. Reason #2 Strong Voice One thing I love about Pickler is her sassiness. She always seems to say just what she means, and doesn’t hold back. This same quality is evident in her music, and it is incredibly compelling. Her first single release off the album, “Tough” is a great example of this. She delivers the well-written lyrics with power and vocal talent that kind of makes you wanna throw fist in the air or give this girl a high-five! There’s also “Stop Cheatin’ On Me” which doesn’t quite have the same fast-paced power of “Tough“, but it definitely maintains a similar take-no-bull attitude. Reason #3 Balance Another reason to love this album is that it has a really good balance between fast-paced boot-scootin’ songs and slower-paced tunes. The previously mentioned “Unlock That Honky Tonk“, “Tough“, “Where’s Tammy Wynette” and “Little Continue reading Kellie Pickler 100 Proof Album Review

Trace Adkins Songs and Stories Tour 2012

Trace Adkins Announces Spring 2012 Tour, Songs and Stories. Trace Adkins has announced a low-key tour for Spring 2012 titled “Songs & Stories Tour“. The tour will hit theaters and auditoriums across the U.S., and will take a more down to earth approach than big budget arena tours. Adkins was inspired by his experience with CMT Invitation Only special last year after the release of his Proud To Be Here album. The concerts will feature not only performances of Trace’s tunes, but also stories and anecdotes that highlight his working-man roots and musical heritage. “I’ve had many narrow escapes and blessings in my life. The right song at the right time has been my saving grace and that’s something I have in common with the audience. Sharing meaningful songs, stories and some laughs ‘around the campfire’ is the Country music tradition and I’m looking forward to it.” -Trace Adkins Tickets go on sale Friday, January 27th, and fans can share their own stories and inspirations by clicking here.
