Josh Turner Releases Time Is Love, New Single From Upcoming 2012 Album! Josh Turner released new music today, Tuesday, December 20th! His latest single titled, “Time Is Love“, is the debut song off his upcoming album release in 2012. The song was penned by Tom Shapiro, Tony Martin and Mark Nesler, and Turner’s selection of it proves his ability to pick out quality content that fans will find relatable. “This song grabbed me from the first listen because it has such an infectious melody and lyrically it really tells a message that I have been wanting to say for a long time…It’s not about quality time but quantity time and taking the time to get to know the person better and develop a relationship with that person.” -Josh Turner Turner has four previous #1 hits (“Your Man,” “Would You Go With Me,” “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “All Over Me”), and there is a good chance this could be his fifth. It will hit country airwaves in January 2012, but it is already available through iTunes for fans to preview and purchase. Now, his new album doesn’t have a title yet (at least, he’s not telling anyone about it so far), but I took a listen to “Time Is Love” and its enough to get me ready to hear the rest of the album! Andy Gibson The Christmas Song

Check Out Newcomer Andy Gibson’s Rendition of The Christmas Song. New on the scene, Andy Gibson, is offering country music fans his very own rendition of the holiday classic, “The Christmas Song“. From Nat King Cole to the Manheim Steamrollers to Hootie & The Blowfish (What’s up, Darius Rucker?), everyone and their grandmother has done some version of this song. Strangely though, at least for me, this tune never gets old. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, maybe it’s just that great of a song, no matter who is singing it, I always enjoy hearing it. I have to say, Gibson’s version is not an exception. He has a great voice, and he does the song justice. Gloriana, or Tom Gossin, Mike Gossin and Rachel Reinert (the group’s fourth member, Cheyenne left the band earlier this year under reportedly amicable circumstances), took a minute while out on the road in Long Island to send a special Christmas and Holiday message to everyone out there in the country music world. Lisa Matassa “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” Music Video! Though many of you haven’t heard of her, Lisa Matassa is no new comer to the music world! After having some success in her younger days on the Dance Pop charts, this mother of two teenagers is back and with a whole new perspective this time! The Long Island New Yorker released her EP (Me Time) earlier this year and with all her dedication and talent, she is sure to gain some fans. She recently recorded “Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)” with the Broadway Youth Ensemble and here is the video for it! CMT Artists Of The Year

HaleighT’s Recap Of The 2011 CMT Artists Of The Year Show! Last night was the presentation of the CMT Artists Of The Year Awards, hosted by Rob Lowe. The honorees were Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley. The recipients were chosen based off of sales, radio airplay, concert grosses and activity on cmt.com. Each artist was given a section of the 90 minute show that was dedicated to them with a performance, congratulatory words by others and a short acceptance speech. Kenny Chesney had the special treat to have Gavin Degraw perform his hit “Somewhere With You“, where he did a fantastic job! A part of the show that ranks very high on my list was when Matthew McConaughey had a video message for Chesney that was too cute! Lady Antebellum received kind words from many including their good friend Miranda Lambert and performed their brand new single “Dancin’ Away With My Heart.” It sounded great and by the reactions of Taylor Swift and the rest of the audience (including me at home), it looks like this will be another chart topper for them! Jason Aldean performed his current single “Tattoos On This Town” and spoke of how this year was kind of a risk, but he was glad he did things on his terms. He wasn’t concerned about what people were telling him to do, he followed his gut and boy did it pay off! Nobody puts Jason in a corner! Viewers were treated to a special treat with an energetic performance by The Avett Brothers. A band that is quite possibly one of the most cross-genre groups around (we aren’t quite sure what they are…folk, rock, indie, Americana, who knows)! Taylor Swift also had someone else perform one of her songs, but this performance had a bit of a twist. The All American Rejects gave us their take on “Mean” while throwing in a little bit of their own hit “Gives You Hell!” It was great! She accepted her award from her good friend and fellow female country artist, Faith Hill. Brad Paisley wrapped the night up for us, first by saying that Country Music was the best industry to be in because everyone was so nice and then by collaborating with Joe Walsh on “Camouflage!” It was a great night for everyone, wish I could have been there! Congratulations again to all five of the talented acts!
