World Premiere: The FIRST independent country music podcast!

The staff at CountryMusicNewsBlog.com is inviting you to take an inside listen to what goes on behind the scenes at your favorite country music news site. Listen in on our crew as we discuss the latest in country music and the lifestyle around it.

In this debut episode, MissMolly finds her broadcasting voice as we talk about Scotty McCreery‘s ACA win, WC’s love for Brad Paisley and Lauren Alaina, outside musicians crashing the country music party and MissMolly learns what noodling is!

What’s so different about what we do, you ask?

  • We don’t tailor our opinion based on advertiser influence.
  • We don’t hold back for fear of industry politics.
  • We are fans and musicians who see more than just what publicists feed us, and we share it with you!

  1. Kudos for asking questions and expressing your opinions! Too many times I've seen the media "bow" to artists and labels.

  2. Hopefully Episode 2 will not follow! You have no clue what you are talking about….not surprised you got slammed on facebook.

  3. Scotty’s win on ACA was FAN VOTED…………thank god it wasn’t based on your opinions! LISTEN to what the fans want…….You are entitled to your opinions but unfortunately they don’t echo what the majority want to listen to on radio/tv etc.

  4. Not to shaby for your first one. You tell it how it is and are realist. To bad the others didn't see that. They are the same people that if the media says its good to eat crap soup they go eat crap soup.

  5. I suggest you do some research before your next broadcast, if there is to be one. 1.Scotty is not 16, he is 18. 2.He won American Idol because he deserved it. 3.If you knew what you were talking about you would know that there are thousands of Mom's and grandma's who voted for him, and continue to do so. 4. Yes he won the ACA award because his fans felt that he deserved it. 5. His album has sold near 700,000 copies., and continues to sell well and has been at the top of the country charts since it's debut, during which time Scotty has performed all over the country. All of this, while he is continuing his education. He has been working hard for someone his age, to pursue his dream. He is very humble and stands by his faith. I have followed him since his first audition on Idol, and voted for him to the end, and yes I am a mom & a grandma who knows many other moms & grandmas who will always support him. So, next time you decide to slam someone, please make an effort to know something about that person first.

  6. 100% AGREE WITH YOUR TAKE ON SCOTTY MCCREERY. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I THINK OF THIS NEWBIE WHO REALLY DO NOT DESERVE THAT AWARD FROM FOX.
HE PALES IN COMPARISON TO LAUREN ALAINA, VOCALLY AND PERSONALITY TOO. HIS TWEETS ON TWITTER ARE 99% ON FOOD AND FOOTBALL AND MORE FOOTBALL. HOW MUCH MORE BORING CAN HE BE? LAUREN ALAINA ACTUALLY HAS EXCELLENT TWITTER PARTIES, WHEN I SAY EXCELLENT, I MEAN SHE ACTUALLY TAKES TIME OUT OF HER CRAZY SCHEDULE REALLY OFTEN AND HOLDS AN HOUR LONG PARTIES WITH HER FANS WHO ARE DYING TO TALK TO HER. SHE RESPONDS SO WELL AND THAT’S WHY THE LIKABILITY FACTOR FOR HER IS WAY HIGHER THAN SCOTTY MCCREERY WHO REALLY DOES NOT COME ACROSS AS GENUINELY HUMBLED BY HIS NEWFOUND FAME.
AND, HIS ALBUM IS SO GENERIC. THERE WERE ONLY ONE OR TWO GOOD SONGS WITH DEPTH. LAUREN ALAINA’S ALBUM IS WELL-ROUNDED AND PROVED HER AS A VERSATILE RECORDING ARTIST. SHE IS REALLY GOOD LIVE TOO. SAW HER RECENTLY AND SHE HAS AN AMAZING VOICE QUITE REMINDING OF NATALIE MAINES FROM DIXIE CHICKS. SCOTTY’S OVER-THE-TOP FAME MIGHT FADE OUT OVER TIME BUT LAUREN MAY ACTUALLY BECOME MORE REPUTABLE AND TREATED MORE RESPECTABLY AS AN ARTIST BECAUSE WATCHING HER LIVE CONFIRMS THAT.

  7. i follow Lauren Alaina on twitter, from what i see she is an extremely hardworking young new artist who is working her butt off and performing radio tours all over the country, literally working non-stop ever since her album released in October 11. Whereas, Scotty Mccreery is taking classes at school right now(really?) and not putting in ANY effort (except for those few lame shows they get him to perform at) in getting his name out there, not that he needs to but really. Is he a true ARTIST in this case? i don’t think so… hate me if you want but Scotty McCreery IS A KARAOKE SINGER… except he has the backing of a record label fully invested in his so-called “potential”.

  8. First off, kudos to WhiskeyChick for being brave enough to express a very “unpopular” opinion. However a correction is due. Scotty is already 18 (not a kid!) and seems like a pretty good person / kid(?). Got to say that Scotty totally does not appeal to me though. I guess I just can’t connect to his singing or music.

As for Lauren, she does write songs. In fact she has a co-write on her Wildflower debut album for “The Funny Thing About Love”. There are also 2 other songs written and sung by her on youtube.

She has been working her butt off these past few weeks at radio station shows. Probably visited more than 10 cities and radio stations in past 3 weeks alone. And many of them in support of charities. Before Idol, she was already performing at small clubs and venues.

I think Lauren’s excellence work ethic and determined attitude will bring her far as a country artist. Somehow I see in her such a passion and drive to be a career country artist. I believe she herself recognizes the hard work it will take. She has my support and I look forward to seeing her grow and develop through the years.
