<p>BOBBY BONES announced on his show today (2/21) that he&#8217;s been selected as an &#8220;AMERICAN IDOL&#8221; mentor for the upcoming season, which debuts SUNDAY, MARCH 11th, on ABC-TV.</p>
<p>BONES told the <a href="http://www.bmilem.com/m/?s=acce-fm&;d=39106&;q=acce-fm20180221H416512239106&;e=wc@countrymusicnewsblog.com&;RefNum=7305931">AUSTIN AMERICAN STATESMAN</a>, &#8220;(I do) bring something to the show, meaning I&#8217;ve worked in a lot of different formats, and these singers are going to be singing a lot of different things. I think I&#8217;ll bring perspective to that side of it instead of being another singer or another artist.&#8221; BONES fronts a band called THE RAGING IDIOTS, who tour nationally, performing parody songs and raising money for charitable causes. On &#8220;IDOL,&#8221; he&#8217;ll appear alongside judges <a title="LUKE BRYAN" href="https://stubhub.prf.hn/click/camref:1100ljXyr/pubref:WPSLukeBryan/ar:CMNBAutoLink/destination:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.stubhub.com%2Fluke-bryan-tickets%2F">LUKE BRYAN</a>, KATY PERRY, and LIONEL RICHIE, as the singing competition makes its comeback after a two-year layoff.</p>
