Randy Rogers Family Foundation Gives $50,000 to New Braunfels Humane Society

The Randy Rogers Family Foundation has presented $50,000 to the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area, turning a day of pickleball and live music into support for local animals. The check was delivered October 19, following the foundation’s second annual Pickleball Jam.

Held October 11 in New Braunfels, Texas, the event combined a tournament with an acoustic concert featuring Randy Rogers, Jon Wolfe, Josh Grider, and Drew Kennedy. The setting was the Park Haus, LLC parking lot near Rogers’ downtown bar, Lost and Found.

Songs, service, and adoptable dogs

Even the team names came from the Randy Rogers Band catalog, including “Kiss Me in the Dark” and “Pour One for the Poor One.” Humane-society volunteers brought adoptable dogs around the event, with adoption fees sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, according to the foundation’s announcement.

The work began before the fundraiser. On August 25, volunteers from the foundation and Tito’s Vodka for Dog People spent four hours at the shelter clearing a walking trail, putting in shelving, and organizing the area used to store kennels and other supplies.

“Before each Golf Jam and Pickleball Jam event, the foundation volunteers with the beneficiary organization to help maximize its impact,” executive director Courtney Bukowski said in the announcement.

Listening to what the community needs

Rogers described the day of service as a way to listen, identify a need, and bring people together to meet it. In this case, the help included both money raised through the event and hands-on work at the shelter.

That is the useful connection for readers following community stories here at CountryMusicNewsBlog.com: the concert was one part of a larger effort, with a named local beneficiary and a confirmed donation.

The foundation supports Texas charities through events including its Golf Jam and Pickleball Jam. Fans can learn about its work through the Randy Rogers Family Foundation and visit the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area for current information about its programs and adoptable animals.
