Amazon Music announced the brand-new Original podcast, Country Heat Weekly, which will bring the world of country music to listeners. The first episode debuts on Tuesday, November 9 with a special guest, country superstar Eric Church.
Country Heat Weekly will be co-hosted by Nashville insiders—and country mega-fans—Kelly Sutton, who also hosts Amazon Music’s Country Heat Radio in DJ Mode, and Amber Anderson. Every week Kelly and Amber will break down the hottest songs, bring listeners the latest news in country music, and connect with some of the music’s most beloved artists as they share never-before-told stories and breakthroughs. Each episode will deliver the vibrant world of country from Nashville to Austin and beyond, entertaining listeners with today’s top tracks and country music history, as well as and pointing out the stars of tomorrow.
Country Heat Weekly is the latest offering from Amazon Music’s highly popular Country Heat brand, which includes a global playlist, station, and DJ Mode station, and recently surpassed 13 billion streams in the U.S. since the first station was launched in October 2016. The podcast comes on the heels of Country Music Month, and following its November 9 premiere, new episodes will drop every Thursday, on Amazon Music and all podcast providers. First looks at Country Heat Weekly are now available via an audio and video trailer.
“Amber and I are bringing a fresh approach to covering all things country! Amber has an insider’s knowledge of the industry and my passion has always been connecting with the artists – we’re excited to give fans a backstage pass to all things country music!” said Kelly Sutton.
“Words can’t express how thrilled I am to have the opportunity to share everything that makes country music great with fans on Amazon Music! It truly is a dream come true to bring exclusive artist content, news, stories, and all of the things that made me fall in love with Nashville to people all over the world,” said Amber Anderson.
Amazon Music released a slate of programming throughout October to celebrate Country Music Month. New content and experiences for customers included livestreams with Reba McEntire and a variety of emerging artists, and new Amazon Original songs including country star Walker Hayes and regional Mexican icon Carin León’s reimagination of “Fancy Like (Carin León Remix – Amazon Original)“ for the brand-new “Whiskey & Tequila” playlist, Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde’s acoustic version of the song “Never Wanted to Be That Girl,” a new track from Kolby Cooper titled “Storm’s Coming,” and today, a new Amazon Original by Ryan Hurd, “What Are You Drinking.”
Country Heat Weekly was created by Amazon Music and Nevermind Media, and is produced by Nevermind Media, with support from Made in Network.
