2020 Tickets, Camping & Lawn Chair Tags will be Valid for 2021 OR Credit Vouchers Available for any Moondance Event in 2021 or 2022
WALKER, MINNESOTA – May 8, 2020 – A direct letter from Kathy Bieloh, the owner of Moondance Events, to fans about the 14th Annual Moondance Jammin Country Fest rescheduling for 2021 and ticket options for those who have already bought tickets to the 2020 event that was postponed by the Covid-19 pandemic:
“Hi country jammers,
As most of you are already aware, I have had to postpone the 14th Annual Moondance Jammin Country Fest until 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. First and foremost, I want to thank all of you for your patience while we are figuring out the logistics of this. You are the most important part of our Moondance family and are the reason I do this. After seeing your response to the survey we put out, factoring in other competing festivals and events and working with the artists on rescheduling, it’s pretty clear that we need to set the dates to June 17-19, 2021. I know that doesn’t work for everyone, but I have to do what I think is best for the majority of you to keep Moondance going into 2021. The survey results came in with 49.4% wanting the dates changed to a week earlier along with 26.5% saying it didn’t matter. That coupled with the fact that as of right now I’ll be able secure more of our lineup that weekend makes this difficult decision a little easier.
Financially, I’m in the same boat as a lot of other small businesses right now. Moondance has been in an uphill battle for the past several years and has been especially difficult since my husband Bill passed away in 2010. I operate the majority of the year with two employees. Renee, who many of you know, manages our ticket office and Charles is our grounds crew manager. I know it can appear to be a big operation when it comes to festival time, but it really isn’t most of the time. I’m not looking for pity as I know there are many others out there in just as dire straits or worse. I’m just laying out the reality that I’m facing when it comes to ticket refunds. If I have to refund tickets, there will be no more Moondance for anyone. I need Moondance to happen to financially get into the next year. So, I have decided that in order to make this as right with you as I possibly can, I will be rolling over 2020 tickets to be good in 2021 like we announced earlier. So, for all of you who will be able to make it for June 17-19 in 2021, please hold onto your tickets and camping passes. But for those of you who cannot make the new 2021 dates work, I will extend the value of what you have already purchased in the form of a Moondance credit voucher that can be used at any Moondance festival in 2021 or 2022. To take advantage of that offer, you will need to send your tickets and camping passes back to us by June 15, 2020 and we will mail you back the credit voucher.
I truly wish I could do more, but I’m stuck until we can all get together again. And I cannot wait until that day comes! We already have Nitty Gritty Dirt Band officially slated for June 17, 2021 and are working with the rest of the artists and bands in Nashville to announce more soon!
Thank you all again for your patience and support. I truly appreciate it.
