<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Shooter Jennings has released a previously unheard recording of &#8220;Same Old Blues&#8221; featuring his parents, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. The track offers another preview of <em>Diamonds</em>, the second album Shooter has assembled from recordings found in Waylon&#8217;s archives.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">&#8220;Same Old Blues&#8221; was originally written by J.J. Cale. According to Shooter, this version came from sessions Tony Joe White produced for Colter. It features White on guitar, Waylon&#8217;s guitar playing, and Richie Albright on drums. Shooter says he found unheard music by both of his parents while exploring the archives in 2024 and chose this recording because it fit the story he was building across <em>Diamonds</em>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Colter also appears on another selection for the album, &#8220;I&#8217;m Tired.&#8221; Shooter&#8217;s first collection of uncovered Waylon recordings, <em>Songbird</em>, arrived in 2025.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em>Diamonds</em> is scheduled for release on LP, CD, cassette, and download on November 13, 2026. Streaming begins December 11. For country fans, the remarkable part of this archival project is the chance to hear these musicians together on a recording that stayed out of public view for decades.</p>
