Vince Gill Will Host Thanksgiving Radio Special for America’s Opry Weekend. Vince Gill will be this year’s host of America’s Opry Weekend:Thanksgiving Special which will celebrate not only Thanksgiving but the beginning of the holiday season! The radio special is scheduled to air during all of Thanksgiving week between November 23rd and November 27th. Gill will be playing a selection of greatest hits which focus on home, life and giving thanks, and he will also be featuring some of his own music including tracks from the recently released Guitar Slinger and holiday songs from 2011 “Twelve Days of Christmas” tour with wife Amy Grant. America’s Opry Weekend is broadcast weekly on country stations across America and the Armed Forces Radio Network. You can also hear it on SIRIUS XM Satellite Radio and opry.com. So, be sure to check local air times, and tune into this special holiday radio show with Vince Gill!

Country Music Holds Its Own At American Music Awards! Sunday, November 20th, ABC aired the 2011 American Music Awards, and we’ve got the complete list of country winners! The AMAs is a fan-voted award show, and all of the nominees represent those artists who have dominated airwaves, charts, and sales. Country Music is one of several genres recognized, and in some cases country artists are in competition with artists from other genres. This round of country winners includes, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift who walked away with three awards including the top honor, Artist of the Year. (For the complete list see below). I have to say, for someone who is continually winning awards, Taylor Swift never ceases to show her humility and true appreciation for her fans! Coming after her second consecutive Entertainer of the Year CMA Award, Taylor Swift will no doubt have a lot to share in the 60 Minutes interview which will be aired Monday night! Swift’s melting pot blend of country has garnered her a massive and loyal fan base, and in the sneak preview below you can hear what the songstress has to say about her responsibilities to these fans. For those of you are already Taylor fans, I have a feeling this interview will make you love her more. Sugarland Joins Line-up of Performers for 2011 “CMA Country Christmas. Not only will Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland be hosting the 2011 “CMA Country Christmas“, but she, and the other half of the Sugarland duo, Kristian Bush, are also joining the line-up of performers for the holiday special! They are set to perform the Christmas classic, “Silent Night“. Other performers include Lauren Alaina, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Kellie Pickler, Little Big Town, Scotty McCreery, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Vince Gill. The Christmas special will air on ABC on Thursday, December 1st at 9pm ET.

The Band Perry Gets In Holiday Spirit With ABC

The Band Perry Celebrates The Holiday With An Original Song for ABC. The Band Perry is gaining more and more traction and visibility everyday, and after receiving three wins at the 2011 CMA Awards, it seems they are becoming unstoppable. To add to the growing list of accomplishments, the group recently announced they have penned an original holiday-themed song specifically for ABCFamily. This is in addition to the contribution the group has already made to Justin Bieber’s holiday album. So, clearly, The Band Perry is in the holiday spirit! The song is featured as part of ABCFamily‘s “25 Days of Christmas” holiday campaign, and the group has recorded an music video to accompany the track. A sixty second teaser of the video will be aired on November 20th during ABCFamily’s “Holiday In Handcuffs“. Presumably, it will be available to fans after this point. Details On Dierks Bentley New Album Release. Dierks Bentley has announced that his sixth studio album, Home, will release February 7th, 2012. The album title shares its name with Bentley’s current and popular single. This concept of “home” and its meaning clearly have a special hold on Dierks. “My home is in Nashville with my family, my home is on the road with our fans and my home is definitely in country music…This album is more than a year’s worth of writing, recording and testing out material on the road in front of our hard core fans. The end result is an album that runs through all the types of country songs and sounds I enjoy singing and playing.” -Dierks Bentley Also on this album, you can find his hit track “Am I The Only One“. Dierks will be celebrating the album release with a special performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on February 2nd. Tickets will be available for purchase on Friday, November 18th at 10am CT.

Blake Shelton Performs Footloose for CMT Invitation Only. You may have gotten a chance to watch Blake Shelton perform “Footloose” live on the 2011 CMA Awards, but that’s not the only place Shelton has been performing this track! In a recent performance for a much smaller audience, Blake performed his new, hit cover of the classic for CMT’s “Invitation Only“ on Monday, November 14th. The song is quite catchy in its original format, but I have to say, Shelton gives a certain spice to the song you simply will not find in the classic version. So, if you haven’t had a chance yet, check out Blake’s version of “Footloose“, and see if it makes you want to get up and shake it! Sunny Sweeney Marries on 11/11/11 Sunny Sweeney has followed up the success of her album release, Concrete, earlier this year and a summer tour with Brad Paisley and Lady Antebellum with a personal success…marriage! The country songstress and her long-time beau, Jeff Hellmer, chose the significant date, 11/11/11, to commit themselves to each other! The two wedded at A Little White Chapel in Las Vegas with a small group of loved ones in attendence. Each composed their own vows, Hellmer’s being comprised entirely of country lyrics! Congrats to both Sunny and Jeff in this happy development!
