George Strait New Album Love Is Everything Due May 14th

King George Releases New Album Love Is Everything on Heels of 2013 The Cowboy Rides Away Tour! George Strait has officially announced that his new album, Love Is Everything, will release on May 14th! Exciting! Can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact that King George has been at this whole making music for a living thing for decades, and he is still, essentially, the biggest deal ever (he recently set an all-time attendance record of 80,020 fans at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, y’all). That’s not easy, and I really hope someone is taking notes. We’ve already had a taste of what’s to come from the new album with current single “Give It All We Got” which is included with the other 12 tracks that will be featured on the new project. In addition to his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour (featuring Martina McBride), Strait and his team are working hard to make the current single his 60th #1 Hit. The song is sitting a 15 on the charts right now, but no doubt, it will hit #1 soon enough. To find out about the “60 For 60” initiative, go here. Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming album, and be sure to check out the remaining dates on his tour below!

George Strait Continues to Sell Out 2013 Cowboy Rides Away Tour

George Strait Sets Sell Out Records with 2013 Cowboy Rides Away Tour. When George Strait announced his 2013 Cowboy Rides Away Tour, we knew that it was going to be a huge success. So, it comes as no surprise that he is selling out his tour stops left and right! Most recently, King George sold 72,000 tickets in less than six minutes for his June 1st tour stop in San Antonio, TX! Strait’s tour sales success places him at #1 on Pollstar’s Concert Pulse with an average $1.4 million in gross per show which ranks him over popular concerts like Justin Bieber, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Dave Matthews Band, and The Who (top 5 respectively). I know there are a whole lot of folks who really want to see George Strait live and in concert, but aren’t going to be able to. On the bright side of things for y’all, he is currently working on an upcoming album, which includes current single , “Give It All We’ve Got Tonight,” and is scheduled to release in late spring.

George Strait’s Cowboy Rides Away Tour Begins

HaleighT Gets Ready To Make The Trip To OKC For The Concert To Be At! Tomorrow, January 19, I will be seeing one of my all-time favorite singers, George Strait. The show is the second of his Cowboy Rides Away tour and will be in Oklahoma City. If you aren’t a George Strait fan, then it is hard for me to describe the kind of ridiculous appreciation I have for him. On the other hand, if you are a true fan, then you get it. He is King George. He is Wranglers. He is Amarillo By Morning. He is Texas. He is the man tapping his foot behind his guitar. He is George and there is no one else like him. I have grown up listening to him my entire life. I have also grown up hearing every female in my family say that he is their husband…and I don’t even think it’s a strange thing to say! He is handsome, has a great voice, has tons of charisma and seems to be one of the most humble men that is in the music industry. His shows are simple with no flashing lights, yet he will sell out an arena in minutes. Not many can do that in music at all and even fewer can do it in country. I’m sure that tomorrow he won’t come even close to singing all of his over 70 #1 hits (we’d have to be there for days). But the good thing about it, is that everyone in that crowd will get to hear at LEAST 8 of their favorites and I’d say those are pretty good odds… So until Monday, when I tell you all how the show went, wish me well travels to the big city! Hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight in anticipation! Did I mention it is my birthday weekend? Oh…this is going to be a good time!

Country Music Tours: Why They Matter

Why Country Music Touring Continues To Be The Life Of The Industry. I love when artists and bands tour. Particularly for the more popular ones, I seek out the dates before they’re released, get the pre-sale if I can, wait for half an hour on the website before it even lets you buy tickets. The excitement of being lucky enough to grab some seats near the front and the dismay at having to pay Ticketmaster huge booking fees, to do, well, not a lot; ordering for a few of your friends and texting them the seat numbers afterwards; making a countdown; updating Facebook about it; writing it on your calendar; listening to the support acts’ music on YouTube. And then the weeks leading up to it, dreaming and fantasising about what songs they’ll play, the things they’ll say to the crowd, what they’ll be wearing and whether they’ll do impromptu meet’n’greets after the show. Live shows are more than one event that lasts for 3 hours on a school night. They last for months, building up to the big day, particularly if you’re younger and you don’t get to go see people live too often, because your parents won’t pay for all of them. Impact On Industry. It’s important to the country industry too. Going back 100 years to travelling medicine shows, touring was a huge source of income for country singers, where recording was expensive and couldn’t always access hard-to-reach rural communities where the musicians lived. Back in the day the majority of advertisers stayed well clear of the ‘hillbillies’ and their ‘hick music’ on country radio, or at least country slots on radio before it became a popular format, so radio generally couldn’t pay the people who came on to play live (before it became largely record-based). So touring was very important, and it remained important for country music to be able to interact with its fans, as it is such a fan-orientated music. Today country touring is huge, and despite massive success in record sales and radio airplay it remains the biggest source of an artist’s income, for most anyway. This is because unless they’ve signed a ‘360’ deal, artists will get all the profits of a tour, after everything has been paid for, and I mean everything. The record label don’t get anything. In recent years the ‘360’ deal has come in, meaning 360 degrees of payments going to the record company, as in they get paid from everything an artist does. It’s a shame, but due to much of music going online and not brining as much extortionate profit as the industry was used to in the 1980s, they’ve become greedy and tried to extract more money from their roster. Connecting Artists and Fans. But touring – it’s a fantastic way to connect with your favorite artists. When you really love an artist, you establish your own personal emotional connection with them and their music, and seeing them live is a climax of musical perfection Continue reading Country Music Tours: Why They Matter
