Shania Twain Teams Up with Lionel Richie For Endless Love. As I am sure you are aware, Lionel Richie has released a country duets album titled Tuskegee, so named after his hometown in Alabama. After decades of singing and producing in other genres, this industry veteran has apparently decided to take a walk on the country side of things. Whoever is in charge of marketing this puppy has been pushing it hard (remember when Richie got a whole set during the CMA Awards?), but the album just released March 18th, so its a bit early to say whether or not all the pushing has been successful. The album features a parade of duets with some of country’s past and current biggest stars from Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers and Jimmy Buffet to Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean. He also covers the classic “Endless Love” with Shania Twain, and the video for this particular tune just released. It is…well, dramatic and also a bit silly featuring a horse…the beach…a black and white kind of motif and even some slow motion. I am honestly not trying to be mean, but I really did laugh out loud when Lionel leaves the house and runs to the beach where Shania is galloping up on a horse (from the ocean?). Although, Shania is one of the queens of 90’s country, so maybe its an homage to the era…the vibe is definitely there. I’m really just not sold on the whole Lionel-Richie-Is-Going-Country thing. I might be alone in this though because from what I’ve read listeners seem to be responding positively. What do you think? Shania Twain Sings “Endless Love” with Lionel Richie. Country music vixen, Shania Twain, marries Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico on New Year’s Day. Shania Twain married fiance Frederic Thiebaud in a private beach ceremony in beautiful Peurto Rico on Saturday afternoon. It is interesting to note that Shania’s former husband, Mutt Lang, had an affair with Frederic’s ex-wife, which is how both Shania and Frederic ended up single in the first place. How bout them apples? Either way, I hope the newlyweds have a long and happy marriage.
Shania Twain signs new management deal with upstart firm – Could new music come next? Shania Twain has kept a pretty modest profile through her divorce and public resurfacing, but with appearances on American Idol and other shows, she’s definitely looking to reclaim some of her former glory. That being said, it’s no wonder she’s updating her management in order to get the best opportunities available in the industry. According to Country Aircheck, Shania has chosen to follow long-time publicist Jason Owen as he leaves UMG next month to start his own management firm, Sandbox Management. Shania and I have been together for over eight years in my role at UMG and to start this new journey with her is a true privilege for me,” Owen told Country Aircheck today. “We have some exciting plans in the works that will expand her worldwide career into new areas of music and entertainment, which will all be revealed very soon. Shania Twain makes the cover of People magazine for the first time in almost 10 years, but she’s not smiling. Shania Betrayed is the headline and the article tells the tale of Shania Twain’s split from husband Mutt Lang after rumors of adultery and deceit. Now I’m probably one of the biggest Shania Twain critics in the country music news scene, but even I believe that this media attention during what is obviously a tough time in her life is NOT the right move. How about a little sympathy folks? A little human decency? Why must you jump like vultures on prey to capitalize on the horrible experiences that we endure? Do any of these articles cite that Shania has partnered again with cosmetics company Coty to produce a new fragrance to add to her collection? Do they talk about how Shania Twain expects to release a new album September 23rd of this year? No. They focus ONLY on the negative which is why artists often mistrust media and hide from the public.Country Music Photo Gallery
