Hunter Hayes Won His First Ever Teen Choice Award. This weekend, Hunter Hayes won his first ever Teen Choice Award. The award was for “Choice Male Country Artist.” Hayes was so excited and appreciative, especially knowing that the award is fan voted. Today he will be performing his latest single, “Wanted,” on The Talk on CBS at 2pm/1pm CT. “Wanted” was just certified Gold by the RIAA. Congrats on everything!
Taylor Swift Cleans Up 2012 Teen Choice Awards with Five Wins! Taylor Swift won five awards at the fan voted 2012 Teen Choice Awards in California last night! She received awards in categories competing with both country stars and stars from multiple other genres including Choice Female Artist, Single by a Female Artist for “Eyes Open”, Female Country Artist, Country Song for “Sparks Fly” and (weird category, here) Movie Voice for playing Audrey in Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. This round of wins sets Taylor as the record holder for most Teen Choice Awards…ever…with twenty total. Gracious as always, Swift’s Facebook status this morning read: “5 Teen Choice Awards?! She won nods for the Choice Female Country Artist in addition to Choice TV: Female Reality Star for her run on American Idol. It’s hard to believe, but its been only a little over a year since this young country singer won the runner-up spot on the massive competition series, and it’s good to see that her fans love hasn’t simmered down at all!
