Brantley Gilbert’s Got Your Working Class Tickets $20 Pavilion Seats Are Being Made Available on Key Amphitheater Shows Somewhere on the Road: As Brantley Gilbert kicks off plans for the summer leg of his The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour, the working class kid from Jefferson, Georgia wants to bring some of his most hardcore, hard-working fans “into the house” for his summer’s party. So rather than merely making fan friendly seats available on the lawn, the back-to-back platinum songwriter’s carving out a chunk of seats under the pavilion – and making them available for just twenty dollars.* Jump straight to the $20 Brantley Gilbert Tickets at www.brantleygilbert.com “Look I love the lawn and how much fun everybody has up there,” the man who won the American Music Award for Favorite Country Album with Just As I Am acknowledges, “but I also know some of my most hardcore fans come for the music. They want to be under the roof, where they can really see and hear the show. I hate that it’s always impossible for the folks in the BG Nation, who’re trying to make ends meet, to get into those seats – so we’re teaming with Live Nation to create a Working Class ticket.” “I know times can be tight, and no matter what you’ve got going on, if you wanna come hear the show, we’ve got you covered.” Tickets for these shows are available on a first-come, first-sold basis. Once they’re gone, they’re done. But for those fans who want to really see the action, and truly hear the band, this is a best of both worlds proposition. With “The Weekend” cresting the Top 10, and the arena portion of The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour rocking, this is one more way for the man who has hit #1 with “Country Music Be Country Wide,” “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” “Bottoms Up” and “One Hell of an Amen” – plus writing “My Kind of Party” and the CMA Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem” – to bring the fans closer to him. As Entertainment Weekly wrote of Gilbert’s attack, “With swaggering guitars, catchy hooks, and a DGAF attitude, Devil promises to keep the ‘One Hell of an Amen’ singer at the top of the country charts,” while Billboard opined “Merle Haggard was known as the ‘Poet of the Common Man,’ and while some might have their opinions about comparing any modern-day star to the late country legend, one thing is for sure — Brantley Gilbert knows his audience. With a pair of platinum albums and nine of his singles being certified gold or platinum, Gilbert’s music strikes a chord with people.” American Songwriter raved, “Gilbert never fails to deliver southern inspired anthems that make listeners crave the weekend” and touring industry trade Pollstar raved of opening night, “most notably on a brief instrumental honky tonk interlude that allowed the five musicians backing Gilbert to show off their chops, the music was heavily country. LITTLE BIG TOWN MAKE HISTORY WITH SOLD OUT “LITTLE BIG TOWN AT THE MOTHER CHURCH” RYMAN RESIDENCY SHOWS First-Ever Year Long Artist Residency Launch At The Ryman Coincides With The Grammy Award- Winning Vocal Group’s New Album, The Breaker 10th “Little Big Town At The Mother Church” Show Added For July 30th Grammy Award-winning vocal group Little Big Town launched their unprecedented year-long artist residency, “Little Big Town at the Mother Church,” from Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium this weekend with back-to-back, sold-out shows on Friday and Saturday evening. The reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year earned numerous standing ovations as they showcased their award-winning vocals during each nightly performance of their new album, The Breaker. The launch of “Little Big Town at the Mother Church” coincides with the world-wide release of Little Big Town’s seventh studio album, released February 24th, and marks the only time in the venue’s 125-year history to host a year-long artist residency. Band members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and Jimi Westbrook’s took to the Ryman stage following support acts Brent Cobb (2/24) and Ashley Monroe (2/25) to debut their first, and only, live full-length album performances of The Breaker.  After opening the show with the album’s “optimistic standout” (Sounds Like Nashville) “Happy People,” the band went on to perform every track on their new album from top to bottom– including their current chart-topping #1 song at country radio, “Better Man”–before later trading off lead vocals for several songs including “Beat Up Bible,” “When Someone Stops Loving You,” and the album’s title track, “The Breaker.” The packed set list had the audience on their feet, singing along to every word of the band’s biggest hits, from “Pontoon” to “Girl Crush,” the thirteen week #1 Grammy-winning crossover hit that recently propelled Pain Killer to RIAA-Platinum-status, earning the group their third RIAA-Platinum album certification as a band. Each evening’s special surprise guest appearances–an expected staple of future “Little Big Town at the Mother Church” dates—solicited enormous audience applause as breakout Country artists Sam Hunt and Chris Stapleton (2/24) and powerhouse vocalist Andra Day (2/25) joined Little Big Town on stage. At the close of each show, in contrast, the band earned a different reaction—complete reverence in the form of uninterrupted silence- as the band launched into an unexpected, completely acoustic encore, sans mics, aimed at paying homage to early Ryman Auditorium performances. Saturday’s show also included an additional on-stage surprise, with the band’s announcement from the Ryman stage that a 10th “Little Big Town at the Mother Church” Ryman Residency date has been added for July 30th due to popular demand. Previously announced dates include May 19&20, July 28&29, September 15&16, and November 27th. Pre-sale tickets for the newly-announced date are available now through March 2nd at 10pm CT by visiting here: www.ticketmaster.com/event/1B005258D765823D. Tickets for the concerts will be $90.50, $60.50 and $50.50. Brantley Gilbert: Devil Heads To Festivals, Fairs & Amphitheaters

Brantley Gilbert on Country Music News Blog

Brantley Gilbert’s The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour Heads Into Summer  Amphitheaters, Festivals + Fairs as He Continues Taking It To The People With Brantley Gilbert’s The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour crossing the Rust Belt and Heartland, the renegade country star turns to warmer weather – knowing when the cold temperatures burn off, he wants to be ready when the first leg of his high impact tour wraps on April 29th in Duluth, MN. Jump To Tickets “These shows in the arenas are so loud and so wild,” says the songwriter whose penned six #1s, including the CMA Song of the Year nominee “Dirt Road Anthem,” of the road. “You almost can’t hold that energy in the building, but come summer – when we take it outside – it’s a whole other kind of deal when we get outside with the BG Nation.” The 26-date summer leg of The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour is a mixture of festivals, fairs and amphitheaters, mixing up the concert experience for the fans. Kicking off June 2 at Tampa’s MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheater, the next wave of the tour will focus on the Midwest, the Southeast and East Coast. “There are so many different ways to do this come warm weather,” Gilbert explains. “And I like’em all. Festivals are just a party with a whole lotta music… There’s not much more real – or more like where I come from – than a fair… and those amphitheater shows, well, that’s where the BG Nation comes together to throw it down. You know, it’s why when we take it outside, it’s just good, and we have the party of the summer everywhere we go.” This year’s show – with new music from his #1 all-genre Top 200 Selling Album The Devil Don’t Sleep – has been striking a chord with his already passionate fanbase. The Reading Eagle wrote of opening night, “far from an outlier; Gilbert stuck his microphone out for audience participation in nearly every song, and they were happy to oblige. This wasn’t music for thinking, it was music for escaping” and touring industry trade Pollstar echoed, “on a brief instrumental honky tonk interlude that allowed the five musicians backing Gilbert to show off their chops, the music was heavily country. But for much of the the show, it was an amalgam of styles Gilbert grew up listening to, incorporating crunchy guitars, drum machines, even some rapped verses.” Quietly selling back-to-back platinum with Halfway To Heaven and Just As I Am, Jefferson, Georgia’s Brantley Gilbert is a different kind of heavy metal force reckon with: a songwriter who taps into the gut of the outlier, the roughneck, the downhome and the downtrodden by rocking his country hard and writing songs torn straight from their lives. A word-of-mouth favorite, his tours focus on the Rust Belt, the Heartland and the Southeast working class, connecting with those music lovers who don’t really care what you call it, just that you bring it every time. Last winter’s successful BlackOut arena Continue reading Brantley Gilbert: Devil Heads To Festivals, Fairs & Amphitheaters

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band releases greatest hits album

Hot off the press at CountryMusicNewsBlog.com!

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to release Fishin’ in the Dark on Feb. 24, a greatest hits album featuring five decades of American music. For five decades, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has remained one of the most iconic names in American music. With one foot planted in the traditions of country-folk and the other pointing toward something new and unexpected, the group continues to tour and release music, influencing multiple generations of audiences and artists along the way. Tomorrow, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will release a 21-track greatest hits album titled Fishin’ in the Dark (Rhino Records). The collection includes the band’s biggest hits on both country and pop radio (“Mr. Bojangles,” “Dance Little Jean,” “Fishin’ in the Dark,” and more), along with many fan-favorites (“Cadillac Ranch” and “Ripplin’ Waters”).   In September 2015, the band celebrated 50 years of music with a sold-out show at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. NGDB was joined onstage by John Prine, Sam Bush, Vince Gill, Jerry Jeff Walker, Alison Krauss, Rodney Crowell, Byron House, Jerry Douglas, Jackson Browne, and longtime Dirt Band member Jimmy Ibbotson. In 2016, the band released a live recording (cd/dvd combo) of this night titled Circlin’ Back: Celebrating 50 Years. The Ryman show, which was also recorded for PBS won a Midsouth Regional EMMY® for Special Event Coverage at the 31st annual award ceremony in Nashville in January 2017.   Fishin’ in the Dark is available at http://www.nittygritty.com/ and Amazon. A note from the band on the back cover of the CD reads, “This collection represents some of our proudest musical moments over the past 5 decades… Hope you’ve enjoyed the ride nearly as much as we have… And to our fans… You “Dirt Heads” out there… Thanks for making it all possible!!”   About Nitty Gritty Dirt Band: Long before Americana music had a name, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band helped lead the charge, mixing elements of country, bluegrass, folk, mountain music, and rock & roll into a sound that celebrated the full range of American music. The guys were traditionalists and trendsetters, performing songs that nodded to the past while still pushing toward the future. Released in 1972 – just six years after the group formed in Southern California – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band’s Will the Circle Be Unbroken still stands as one of the most beloved albums in the country catalog, pairing the young band with legends like Roy Acuff, Doc Watson, Earl Scruggs, and Mother Maybelle Carter.   Many decades have passed since that milestone album’s release, with the members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band now enjoying their own legendary status. They continue to blur lines between genres, however, and Circlin’ Back accomplishes something very similar to the classic Will the Circle Be Unbroken, pairing the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band with the hit-makers, rule-breakers, and iconic figures of today’s roots music community. This time, Hanna, Fadden, Carpenter, and McEuen are the elder statesmen, passing down their influence and inspiration to a younger class without giving up the torch just yet. There’s more music to be made, after all. More shows to play. Another half-century to chase down. The Continue reading Nitty Gritty Dirt Band releases greatest hits album

Dan + Shay rock sold-out crowd in duo’s first headlining show at historic Ryman Auditorium

Dan + Shay on Country Music News Blog!

5x Academy of Country Music-nominated duo’s Obsessed Tour makes unforgettable stop at Mother Church With fans singing along from the very first word, Academy of Country Music-nominated duo Dan + Shay celebrated their first appearance at historic Ryman Auditorium with a raucous show that left the sold-out crowd breathless for more. The show, part of the rising duo’s spring Obsessed Tour, was a crowning moment for Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, who moved to Nashville five years ago to chase their musical obsession. “This is just the best night of my entire life,” Mooney told screaming fans at Nashville’s most iconic live music venue. “I had this dream, and Shay had this dream, too,” Smyers said, “and we moved here because we wanted to do this. … If it weren’t for our fans sharing our music and spreading the word … we wouldn’t be here.” Much of the sold-out crowd stood for the entirety of the performance, joining in harmony to tracks like current single, “How Not To,” “When I Pray For You,” a ballad the duo penned for March 1’s major motion picture The Shack, recent No. 1 “From the Ground Up” from the 2016 album Obsessed to the duo’s first No. 1, “Nothin’ Like You” and their Platinum-certified hit “19 You + Me” among the 18-song set. The critical response to the performance was as exuberant as the fans’. “The duo famous for their tight harmonies… perform with a joy and fire that is contagious,” raved Cindy Watts of The Tennessean. “Dan + Shay are an undeniable force headed nowhere but up.” Taste of Country‘s Billy Dukes echoed that sentiment, noting the “electric” set “prove[s] they’re at the head of the class” and their “commitment to their fans’ concert experience… will ensure it’s a long, long ride.” The members of the “velvet-voiced duo” (Rolling Stone Country) are up for two awards at the 52nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, April 2 in Las Vegas. Dan + Shay were nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year as well as New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year recently and will perform around the awards when Vegas goes country. It’s the group’s fourth consecutive ACM nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year. The duo’s latest single from Obsessed, “How Not To,” was one of the night’s biggest singalong moments (see the video). A few well-timed covers like Jon Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name,” The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” and CeeLo Green’s “Forget You” turned the night into a dancealong. Raucous fans brought the boys out for a three-song encore that stretched to 30 minutes, concluding an amazing night. “We just sold out the Ryman tonight,” Mooney said. “That’s insane.” The duo’s Obsessed Tour continues Friday in Knoxville, Tennessee, with dates across the U.S. and Canada through the spring.
