Dierks Bentley Hosted Miles and Music For Kids 2012 Line-Up Featuring Kix Brooks, Chris Young and More! Dierks Bentley has garnered quite an impressive line-up for the 7th annual “Miles & Music for Kids” celebrity motorcycle ride and concert! Confirmed participants so far include Craig Campbell, Chris Young, Kix Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Brantley Gilbert and The Cadillac Black! Not too shabby, right? The event is scheduled for Sunday, October 14th and will kick off in Columbia, TN and finish up at the ACM Lifting Lives main stage in Nashville‘s Riverfront Park! In partnership with CMT One Countryand Harley Davidson of Columbia, Bentley will donate all proceeds raised to the Monroe Careel Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Cadillac Black Jumps On Board Dierks Bentley’s August Tour. Cadillac Black has officially announced that they will be joining Dierks Bentley‘s Back To College Tour this August. The dates include visits to The University of Georgia on August 20th, The University of South Carolina on August 21st, and The University of Mississippi on August 22nd. This isn’t the first run-in the group has had with Dierks. They have been tapped to open for him in the past, and lead vocalist Jaren Johnston just completed producing Bentley’s Country & Cold Cans EP which will release on August 21st. “I’m so excited to have had the chance to produce the EP. Dierks and his band have such a great vibe and play so well together. Well, now that’s actually an option! Martin Guitar will be releasing a special Dierks Bentley Custom Signature Edition this month! Bentley lets on that the design of the guitar has a couple different influences relating to his music and his background. “It’s kind of based on the song ‘Home,’ so there’s the herring bone right on the outside that’s red, white and blue. But it’s a little of Buck Owens’ influence there as well, because I’m a huge Buck fan. There’s a phoenix on there that says where I’m from and just the specs on the guitar, are kinda custom to how I like them.”-Dierks Bentley Bentley had a hand in the design and each guitar will feature the artist’s John Hancock! Dierks Bentley’s Father Passed Away On June 1. Sadly, Dierks Bentley’s father passed away on Friday, June 1. Our condolences and prayers are with all of Mr. Bentley’s family and friends as they grieve during this difficult time. Dierks’ show that was originally scheduled for this Wednesday, will be postponed and tickets will be refunded if necessary. Here is a picture that Dierks tweeted this past weekend and said, “my dad died yesterday. it was an honor to comfort him as he left us. thank you fans for the time and understanding.”
Dierks Bentley Has Canceled His Performance At Nationals Game. Dierks Bentley has unfortunately had to cancel his performance at the Nationals game in DC that would have happened tomorrow (Saturday, June 2). Bentley is not able to perform because of an illness in his family. This is the first show that he has had to cancel/reschedule in 10 years and he is very disappointed about it. Luckily his good friends and fellow country singers Big & Rich will be filling in for him! Our prayers go out to Bentley and his family and we hope for a speedy recovery!

He gives a very down to earth performance with a low key, but powerful emotional quality. After Listening To Dierks Bentley’s Home, I Want To Go Exactly There! Dierks Bentley’s previous album, Up On The Ridge, was such a breath of fresh air! I really enjoyed the bluegrass compilation and loved the fact that Bentley did what HE wanted to do. But…the first time I heard “Am I The Only One,” I was immediately rushed to years back when I first discovered the curly headed guy on my TV singing “How Am I Doin’?” At that moment I knew we were going to get an awesome album from him very soon. I was right! The second single and title track, “Home,” was released and was on the opposite side of the tracks from “Am I The Only One,” but they were both going in the same direction! The best way I can describe this album as a whole is probably something like this…I see myself with a few of my favorite people, on a cool afternoon, sitting around a fire, with a cup in my hand, not talking, but having the best time ever. It just makes me happy! I don’t know about everyone else, but I don’t have to be jumping up and down raging to a song just because it is fast paced. Don’t get me wrong, I do that too, but it is also nice to sit back, listen, appreciate and smile! It is hard for me to pick a favorite song from this album…number one because they are all pretty great and number two because I like them all for different reasons. “Gonna Die Young” is fun and makes me want to do something crazy, it kind of has the same effect “What Was I Thinkin’” had on me. “Tip It On Back” is very easy going and I can’t help but sing along. “The Woods” has a great beat to it, it is very descriptive and it takes me back. Everyone has that place that is almost sacred to them, it holds a lot of memories and no matter what happens you can always go back there! “When You Gonna Come Around,” featuring Karen Fairchild, is the type of song you wish was written about you (don’t lie, you have all thought it a time or two). “Thinking Of You” is just so sweet! I encourage you to listen to the entire song from start to finish. Yes, it is seven minutes, but I promise the end will have you grinning from ear to ear.
