Miranda Lambert was born November 10, 1983, in Lindale, TX, a small town about 80 miles east of Dallas, the daughter of country guitar player and songwriter Rick Lambert (her mother, Bev, ran a detective agency). Growing up in a house dedicated to country music, she began entering country talent contests when she was 16, and appeared as part of the Johnny High Country music Review in Arlington, TX.

Lambert learned to play guitar and immediately began writing her own songs, continuing to enter talent contests (one led to her appearing in a potato chip ad and a part in the 2001 teen comedy Slap Her She’s French). At 17 (while still in high school) she formed the Texas Pride lineup and began gigging professionally, and later in 2001, with financial help from her father, she put forth an independent CD, Miranda Lambert, that showcased her songs, two of which, “Texas Pride” and “Somebody Else,” actually entered the Texas material charts.

In 2003 she finished first in the Texas auditions for the Nashville Star tv show, moving to Nashville to appear on it, eventually finishing third in the competition, which led to a recording contract with Sony. Still only 21 years old, her first major-label single, “Me and Charlie Talking,” was issued in 2004, and the consequent album, Kerosene, for which Lambert wrote or co-wrote ten of the 11 tracks, appeared in 2005 on Epic Records, came by Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in 2007. Revolution was put forth in 2009.

The Miranda Lambert Concert Tour “Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars” Kicks Off March 18th in Beckley, WV Miranda Lambert brings her “Roadside Bars And Pink Guitars” Tour to her fans this Spring. Gearing up on March 18th in Beckley, WV, the tour will make stops in at least 22 cities and more to be announced. This is Lambert’s first official headlining tour. She will be joined by David Nail, James Otto, Randy Houser and Wade Bowen among others. In addition to her own headlining tour, Lambert will take part in the prestigious Lilith Fair Tour and joins an A-list lineup including Kings of Leon, Jay-Z, Dave Matthews Band and Norah Jones, performing at this year’s Bonnaroo Music Festival in June. “In the last 5 years, I have learned so much from all the amazing artists I’ve toured with,” said Lambert. “Now it’s my turn to venture out and do more shows of my own. I’m happy that there are a lot of great new artists who are willing to come out and support my tour.” Fans, critics and peers agree it’s time for the award-winning Texas singer/songwriter to take center stage. Recent performances have garnered such praise as “one of modern country’s most formidable talents” from The Oklahoman and from the Dallas Morning News “She can command a stage as good as any of the genre big boys.” Last week, Lambert, who’s latest single “White Liar” from her album REVOLUTION recently hit #1, taped an episode of ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which airs this spring and was a presenter at the Grammy Awards, where she was also nominated for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her self-penned song “Dead Flowers.” While in Los Angeles as part of Brad Paisley’s “American Saturday Night” Tour, she will tape two upcoming shows for the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson (air dates TBA.) The three-time GRAMMY nominee received rare perfect reviews for REVOLUTION from countless publications including 4 stars from Rolling Stone and USA Today, an A from Entertainment Weekly and exuberant praise from SPIN, NY Times, Washington Post and more. Many claimed REVOLUTION the “Best Album of 2009” in any genre including NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Amongst the many accolades, the Nashville Scene Critics Poll voted Miranda Lambert’s REVOLUTION as the year’s best album and her “White Liar” as the year’s best single; they also named her Female Vocalist of the Year and runner-up Artist of the Year. Miranda Lambert was surprised this weekend by a fan’s gift by “the poker brat” Phil Helmuth when he met up with her backstage at the Kenny Chesney concert and presented her with a custom can of Milwaukee’s Best…. with his face on it! Just give me a jukebox, and a country song! Country music stars are a special brand of celebrity. Unlike actors or athletes, their art hits us closer to home, and seems to pull more than anything, from their own personality. So it’s easy to understand why there are some country stars who seem more welcoming than others, more authentic, and of course, just more interesting. As I jotted my next country concert down in my calendar (which happens to be Sticks Country Music Festival), I began to wonder what it would be like to meet Rascal Flatts, Gretchen Wilson, or Jamey Johnson? What would I ask? How would I leave a great impression? Why would that meeting be so important to me? Then I started wondering who else I’d want to meet? What is my all-star line-up of country stars and why? Well, I’ll tell you! Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton give a concert to build an animal shelter in Tishomingo, Okla. Miranda Lambert‘s charity event, TAILS (Texoma Animal Improved Living Society), raised $70,000 to build a shelter in Tishomingo, Okla. The money was raised at a concert with boyfriend Blake Shelton at Murray State College on Feb. 12. –read more… I gotta say every time I open a magazine, read my newsfeeds, or even turn on the TV, this girl’s out savin animals, raisin money, and givin’ back to her community. And not just writing checks and taking pictures… she’s out there putting the events together, doing interviews, giving concert, and following through to make sure that all goes smoothly.
