ABCs Nashville Trailer New Country Music Soap Opera

Nashville Will Be Heating Up ABC…Country Music Style! The ABC Network has ordered a new show, Nashville, that will be steaming up television screens in the Fall! The show is essentially a well produced soap opera (not unlike the currently endangered GCB), but this one has got much more of twang twist to it. The story line centers around a country singer, Rayna (sound like Reba to anyone else?) played by Connie Britton, who is experiencing a decline in the success of her career after decades in the business. In an effort to salvage things, her label tries to force her to work with Juliette Barnes, played by Hayden Panettiere, an up and coming artist with more looks than talent. Nashville is taking a hard look at country music show business, and putting the spotlight on a lot of aspects that we hear people complaining about fairly often, like the blending of pop into country and the loss of the more traditional sound many fans prefer. The trailer (which you can watch below!) is pretty scintillating, and it is clear that show producer’s are not aiming to skimp on the drama. At a minimum, I think Nashville has the potential to be a show that country music fans will love to hate…if not just outright enjoy it! Watch the trailer, and tell us what you think! Love and Theft To Be Featured On GACs Day Jobs! Love and Theft will be featured on GAC‘s “Day Jobs“, and what will they be doing, you wonder? Just the finest of all endeavors…making whiskey! The country music duo will be working alongside Jamey Grosser, the owner of Popcorn Sutton’s White Whiskey Distillery, and will be seeing just how whiskey gets made! Wonder if they’ll get to keep what they make (though, they may not want to…)? The episode will air Wednesday, May 16th at 9pm!

Carrie Underwood Featured Guest on OWN’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter”. Country music fans are going to get a special look inside the life of Carrie Underwood and her two-year (so far) marriage to Nashville Predators forward Mike Fisher! The couple sat down with mega-star and talk show host, Oprah Winfrey for an exclusive interview to be featured on OWN’s “Oprah’s Next Chapter”. (Oprah sure does love her country music stars, doesn’t she.) The interview took place in the couple’s home in Nashville, and the topics discussed include balancing their celebrity careers with their marriage, how their celebrity status has influenced their lives, and where they want to build their dream home! Fun fact: this is the couple’s first interview together on tape. So, should be interesting! This episode airs Sunday, May 20th at 9pm.

MCA Nashville singer-songwriter Kip Moore is making his national television debut on Live With Kelly this morning at 9am central time! The Georgia native will perform his already gold-certified, Top 5 single, “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck.” Moore released his debut album, Up All Night, on April 24. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Country Album chart and No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200. “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck,” which has sold more than 680,000 units, sits at No. 4 on the country singles chart, No. 5 on the Digital Country Tracks and ranks No. 9 on Billboard’s Top-Selling Country Digital Songs for First Quarter 2012. It has been in the SoundScan Top 10 Digital Core Country Chart for eleven consecutive weeks. The video has received more than 6 million views online. Jermaine Paul Is The Season 2 Winner Of The Voice! Although Jermaine Paul is not a country artist, his coach Blake Shelton, is through and through! On last night’s finale episode on NBC Paul took first over Juliet Simms (Team CeeLo), Tony Lucca (Team Adam) and Chris Mann (Team Christina). We would like to give the hugest round of applause possible for Jermaine and Shufflin’ Shelton! With Jermaine’s powerhouse-of-a-voice and Blake’s pure confidence, this team member is no longer a backup singer! Below is a video of the coach and team member giving fans a very soulful version of “Soul Man” that is sure to get you in the mood to groove! Below that is a heartfelt performance by Jermaine to Shelton singing his coaches hit, “God Gave Me You.” Congrats again to the success of everyone who was a part of this season!

Kellie Pickler Featured On An Episode Of GAC’s Day Jobs! Animal lover Kellie Pickler had a once in a lifetime experience as a caregiver at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee on GAC’s Day Job’s last night. Helping animals has always been an important part of Kellie’s life. She learned about some of the tragic stories of their past and how the Elephant Sanctuary is helping provide a quality of life they would’ve experienced in the wild. Kellie took in every moment working alongside the caregivers as the tended to the magnificent creatures. The show premiered last night on GAC, but for those of you who missed, you will have your chance! The episode will re-air May 4 at 10pm ET, May 5 at 2am ET and May 6 at 3pm ET! Nan Kelley hosts the GAC show and gives viewers a VIP pass at the going-ons behind the scenes. Lambert talks about life on the road and what goes into making her On Fire tour successful. Tour-mates Chris Young and Jerrod Niemann also sit down with Nan and share their thoughts on being responsible for capturing the ticket-holders attention and setting their energy “on fire” at each show. The season 10 winner will be returning to center stage on Idol on Thursday, March 29th to perform his recent single “Water Tower Town“. Carrie Underwood Featured On ABC’s GCB

Soundtrack for ABC’s Show, GCB, Features Country Hits! One of ABC‘s newest show, GCB (originally titled Good Christian B*tches…then Good Christian Belles…now everyone just says GCB…) has one heck of a soundtrack, and it mostly features country hits (we heard Luke Bryan…Miranda Lambert and more just in the pilot episode)! One of the show’s stars, Kristin Chenoweth (you might have seen her on Glee or maybe broadway!) took on Carrie Underwood‘s hit “Jesus Take The Wheel“, and knocked it out of the ballpark! It was so good that viewers couldn’t stop talkin’ about it, and Warner Music Nashville made it available on iTunes. Now, each week one song will available on iTunes from the show, and the complete soundtrack will be available May 8th. I really hope this means that we’re going to be hearing Chenoweth versions of country songs we already love. I mean, if Glee can do it, GCB can too, right?
