Reba McEntire’s New ABC SitCom

Reba McEntire’s New TV Show Will Air on ABC. Reba McEntire has that showbiz bug again…well, the TV-specific showbiz bug. It was announced last year that the country music veteran had another TV show in the works. If you remember, her hit WB comedy, Reba, ran from 2001-2007. Her new program, titled Malibu Country has reportedly been picked up by ABC. Her Reba executive producer is currently slated as writer, and the concept focuses on a singer, obviously played by McEntire, who moves to Malibu after parting ways with her cheating and financially reckless rockstar hubby. She is accompanied on her move by her three kids and her mother, and plans to revive her career. I have a feeling, Malibu Country probably won’t stray far from the original Reba show, but I liked that so, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Are you excited Reba is returning to the small screen? Need a refresher on Reba’s acting career? Check out the pilot of Reba below. [youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm2fzLTfY2E]

The Voice Superbowl Commerical

Blake Shelton and The Voice Mentors Get Funny for Superbowl Ad. It’s no secret that over the past few years, the Superbowl and its media extravaganza has become just as much about the ads that air during its prime airtime as it is about the actual game. NBC’s The Voice producers clearly weren’t about to miss out on this year’s golden opportunity to steal a little more limelight for the upcoming season of their hit series! Blake Shelton (clearly, our favorite mentor!), Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera are back and kicking the season off right with a funny and action packed trailer for the season (with a special guest…). Check it out below, and make sure you catch up on last night’s season premiere if you haven’t already! 2012 The Voice Superbowl Ad [youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OjVPRGD8ow]

Scotty McCreery American Idol Audition Revisited

American Idol In Retrospect: Scotty McCreery’s Idol Audition. Well, a new season of American Idol is well underway, and over here at CMNB that got us to thinkin’ about last year’s winner…yep, Scotty McCreery, the young man that has experienced an overwhelming amount of success in an incredibly short amount of time. It’s always kind of fun to go back and check out stars before they were stars. So, take a look at his audition video below. Walk Down Memory Lane with Scotty and His Idol Audition. [youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV1do6TuMBw] We’re not the only ones looking back in time. In a recent interview Scotty McCreery got a little nostalgic about his run on American Idol, and even doled out a little advice to this seasons contestants: don’t stress out! “…I made that mistake a couple times. You’re just there to sing, have fun, and really entertain the crowd…If you let the stress of the TV part of it, the live show part of it get to you, the singing and the entertaining won’t be fully there. Stay laid back, get your songs right, work hard, and you’ll be set.”-Scotty McCreery Currently on tour with Brad Paisleyand The Band Perry, no doubt Scotty is learning how to cope with a whole other kind of stress these days! I’m sure at the same though, he’s takin’ it in stride and learning all he can from a country music great like Paisley. Miranda Lambert On Law and Order

Miranda Lambert Makes Television Debut On Crime Drama Favorite, Law and Order: SVU. Miranda Lambert may have caught the television bug from hubby, Blake Shelton! She, however, is going in a different direction. Lambert will be guest starring on an episode of NBC’s popular crime drama, Law and Order: SVU. Reportedly, she will be playing an actress that has suffered abuse from her show producer, played by Micheal McKean, on a reality tv series. We don’t know when the show will air just yet, but clearly Miranda is excited (as she should be!), having tweeted “Y’all I’m so freaking excited to be on my favorite show ever”. We’re excited too! Additionally, Lambert is joining Blake as a mentor on the set of the upcoming second season of The Voice, also an NBC production. The Voice fans can expect to see Kelly Clarkson in the mix this season as a mentor as well. The season premieres February 5th.

American Country Awards 2011 Winners

Complete List of 2011 Winners for 2nd Annual American Country Awards! Fox tried out its original awards show, American Country Awards, for the second year in a row Monday, December 5th. The fan-voted show which awards winners to scale guitar shaped trophies was a spectacular event hosted by Trace Adkins and Kristin Chenowith and featuring performances by Pistol Annies, Thompson Square, Eli Young Band, The Band Perry and more. I’m happy to say that in the list of award shows we’ve already seen this year, this one stands out at least because of the winners (see full list below). Some of the winners include artists who have yet to be recognized with wins this year like Thompson Square and Chris Young. Others though have been winners, big winners actually, like Blake Shelton. However, Shelton was recognize for a work that hasn’t gotten quite as much attention from the industry as his other singles (guess that’s the bonus of a fan voted show!). Jason Aldean was another big winner, and really, no surprise their. He produced a great album, and clearly knows how to put on a show for his fans! Well-deserved all around! All in all it was a good evening, but Fox probably still has a long way to go if it wants to compete for fans and viewers with the likes of the CMA Awards or even the CMT Awards. Be sure to let us know what you thought about the show and the winners!
