Born in Lyons, Georgia, Campbell played piano at his mother’s Baptist church from the age of ten until he was 18 and his home was filled with the sound of gospel music, but he also fell under the spell of country music, particularly Travis Tritt, whose gospel-fueled delivery suited Campbell’s own vocal style. While still a teenager he formed a band, Out of the Blue, and began playing the bar circuit, learning how put together a performance and capture an audience. In 2002, he relocated to Nashville, quickly immersing himself in the music scene there. He landed a steady gig at The Stage, one of the biggest clubs in historic Lower Broadway and doing demo sessions for other singers. Fellow Georgian Luke Bryan suggested Campbell try his hand at writing his own songs, and in time he mastered the craft, honing his original material at gigs. He met another singer, Mindy Ellis, fell in love, and the pair married; he also began playing piano in her band, which in turn led to a touring stint with Tracy Byrd. Keith Stegall caught one of Campbell’s performances at The Stage in 2008 and the young singer was soon signed to Bigger Picture, which released a debut single, “Family Man,” in 2010, following it with a full-length album, the self-titled Craig Campbell, in 2011. “Family Man” peaked at number 14 on the Country Singles charts, and two more singles taken from the album, “Fish” and “When I Get There,” made the Country Top 40. Campbell kept up a hectic touring schedule, and in May 2013 Bigger Picture released his second album, Never Regret. Two singles from the album charted on the Country Singles chart, “Outta My Head” (which Continue reading Craig Campbell Duets with 12 Year Old Country Prodigy Tegan Marie on "Outskirts of Heaven"

Shooter Jennings To Re-Release Black Ribbons

SHOOTER JENNINGS TO RE-RELEASE BLACK RIBBONS Groundbreaking Album to Include Vinyl, CD and Unreleased Tracks Shooter Jennings and BCR Los Angeles proudly announce the re-release of his 2010 album Black Ribbons in a limited-edition package that includes vinyl, cd and unreleased tracks. The reissue of the critically-acclaimed music comes in at the perfect time for the genre-breaking, dystopian concept album…Election Day, November 8, 2016. Narrated by famed horror author Stephen King, Black Ribbons is a concept album set in the near future, when the U.S. Government has control over the airwaves, and a lone radio DJ vows to play the one band the authorities don’t want him to play. The album takes the listener on an incredible multi-genre, anti-establishment infused journey that brings you right back where the album was conceptualized – truth and awakening. “On Black Ribbons, Jennings illustrates the despair that seems to be the zeitgeist now with dark, densely textured songs,” wrote Meredith Ochs in a review for npr music’s “All Things Considered” when the album was first released. “He borrows heavily from Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers and The Beatles circa Abbey Road.” “Although his albums with his hard-edged alt-country band the .357s tested the boundaries of mainstream tastes, ‘Black Ribbons’ has bypassed those limits entirely, crafting a darkly atmospheric rock concept album about the last voice of true freedom in the land, a freewheeling late-night talk-show DJ called Will O’ the Wisp, voiced by King,” wrote Randy Lewis in the LA Times. Along with the re-release, Jennings announced a limited series entitled “Beyond The Black,” which takes music lovers song by song through the story of Black Ribbons and how the concepts and theories behind the project still ring true today. The limited, special edition re-release will be offered as a package that includes: –       Double vinyl LP remastered edition of Black Ribbons –       CD copy of Black Ribbons –       CD copy of previously unreleased, rare and new tracks from Shooter Jennings and Hierophant –       New album art and special packaging The Black Ribbons reissue comes on the heels of Shooter’s groundbreaking Countach (for Giorgio) album that included guest appearances by Marilyn Manson, Steve Young, Brandi Carlile and Lord British himself, computer game leviathan Richard Garriott. Shooter made history, when the album was premiered inside the massive multi-player online game Shroud of the Avatar. www.shooterjennings.com www.facebook.com/ShooterJennings www.twitter.com/shooterjennings www.instagram.com/shooterjennings/ www.bcrmedia.com

Kenny Chesney’s COSMIC HALLELUJAH: 10/28 Release Gets New Title

Kenny Chesney on Country Music News

KENNY CHESNEY’S COSMIC HALLELUJAH OCT. 28 Follow Up to Big Revival Changes Street Date, Changes Title Kenny Chesney’s creative roll over the last few months defies conventional business wisdom, but it seems to be igniting a whole other spark in the songwriter-superstar from East Tennessee. After writing, recording and releasing “Noise” in a matter of 11 days – and delaying the follow-up to his acclaimed The Big Revival until October 28 to accommodate “Setting the World On Fire,” featuring pop superstar P!NK – the 8-time Entertainer of the Year went on Good Morning America and surprised hosts Ginger Zee and Jesse Palmer with a brand new title for his forthcoming album: Cosmic Hallelujah. “The more I listened, the more these songs’ energy– especially ‘Setting The World On Fire’ – took hold,” Chesney said. “Some Town Somewhere is a great title, and it’s every single one of us. But then there’s how the album f its together, and even expands on what the last album did. So, I could go with what was already in place, or I could grab the title that felt the most right. “In the end, these album titles are around for a very long time. I really try to have titles that give people a sense of what the music is, and what the album is all about. There sure is a lot of Some Town Somewhere for sure, but really when I pulled back and listened: these songs are all about taking The Big Revival to the next level; that level is Cosmic Hallelujah.” Juxtaposing the reality in which we live with the power we have over how we react to it, and creating joy in the frenzy gives Cosmic Hallelujah its charge. With “Noise” capturing the world so many are caught up in through information addiction, tech dependence and fear-based/sensation-driven media, Chesney seeks to harness the urgency of striving and white noise overload; at the same time, the man The Los Angeles heralded as “The People’s Superstar” has balanced the album with the notion of working hard and unwinding to maintain one’s balance. Our relationships, moments and laughter, that’s what gives life – and music — its meaning. “You can go so caught up in all of the rushing, the racing around,” Chesney allows. “Or you can use all that momentum and repel against it, use its energy to experience the rush of being absolutely in the moment. For everyone in the No Shoes Nation, when I look out, that’s what I see: people who’re so completely alive, everything coming off them is like a giant cosmic hallelujah!” The new title was news to Chesney’s team. For the increasingly in-the-moment performer, whose S pread the Love 2016 Tour hits 14 major stadiums, that flash of immediacy’s driving his most recent creative endeavor. “The longer you do this, the more you appreciate inspiration when it’s genuine,” Chesney says. “Making records, I have to compete with all the amazing songs I’ve already cut, and every time Continue reading Kenny Chesney’s COSMIC HALLELUJAH: 10/28 Release Gets New Title

New Music From Darius Rucker!

DARIUS RUCKER REVEALS NEW MUSIC, “IF I TOLD YOU”  New single makes world premiere on iHeart Radio today; released to all streaming and digital retail services   Nashville, Tenn. – Darius Rucker knows that in order to move people, there has to be vulnerability and authenticity in the message. Rucker first demonstrated his ability to expose that underlying raw emotion with the first of his seven No. 1’s, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” from his Platinum Learn To Live and most recently in “So I Sang” from Southern Style. With our first taste of new music in “If I Told You,” Rucker unveils a heartfelt new track worldwide today on iHeart Radio. Expected to be the first cut from his fifth major label country album for Capitol Records Nashville, the song is also available today on streaming and digital retail services. “I always tell people, the first time I heard [the Black Crowes’] ‘She Talks To Angels,’ those lyrics did something to me. I probably requested that song eight times at different bars in Columbia, S.C. before going home, putting on Bonnie Raitt’s Home Plate, and trying to write ‘She Talks To Angels’ for Bonnie Raitt. ‘Let Her Cry’ just poured out,” shares Rucker. “For me, ‘If I Told You,’ inspired me like ‘Angels’ as it’s not a song I wrote, but as a songwriter I would not change a line as it moves me to want to not only sing along but also as a songwriter it inspires a new perspective.”  In his inaugural project with producer Ross Copperman, “If I Told You” also marks the first time Rucker has worked with Copperman’s co-writers on the single, Jon Nite and Shane McAnally. “What I love about each album is the opportunity to expand on what we’ve done in the past—to push myself and the band creatively, vocally and lyrically,” adds Rucker. “At the end of the day, I’m a fan of great stories and great songs. With ‘Wagon Wheel’ I loved the visual it painted and it’s a song I can truly say I look forward to performing every night. With ‘If I Told You,’ I can’t wait to share in that vulnerability with the fans from the stage night-after-night.” Rucker is currently on his U.S. Good For A Good Time Tour; upcoming dates are as follows: Thursday, July 7 | Englewood, Colo. | Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre Friday, July 8 | Albuquerque, N.M. | Isleta Amphitheatre Saturday, July 9 | Phoenix, Ariz. | Ak-Chin Pavilion Friday, July 15 | Mountain View, Calif. | Shoreline Amphitheatre Saturday, July 16 | Irvine, Calif. | Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre Friday, July 22 | Holmdel, N.J. | PNC Bank Arts Center Saturday, July 23 | Hartford, Conn. | XFINITY Theatre Sunday, July 24 | Wantaugh, N.Y. | Nikon at Jones Beach Theatre Friday, July 29 | Bangor, Maine | Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion Saturday, July 30 | Mansfield, Mass. | Xfinity Center Sunday, July 31 | Darien Center, N.Y. | Darien Lake Performing Arts Center Friday, Aug. 12 | Bristow, Va. | Jiffy Lube Live Saturday, Aug. 13 | Camden, N.J. | Continue reading New Music From Darius Rucker!
