Old Dominion celebrate ACM Awards win and performance

Old Dominion celebrate ACM Awards win and performance Last night, in Las Vegas, the 51st annual ACM Awards celebrated the last year of Country music. Among those taking home awards were Nashville’s underdog hit-makers turned Country’s next-big-thing. Old Dominion were awarded the New Vocal Group Of The Year accolade as well as being nominated for vocal group of the year alongside artists such as Zac Brown Band and winner Little Big Town. They were also invited to perform at the ceremony in front of the packed out audience of over 16,000 Country fans and 16.2 million viewers at home. It was a monumental moment for the band. ‘What an incredible few days… THANK YOU’ said the band. ‘We are blown away, this is another thing we didn’t expect to come our way. We are just completely lucky, we can’t believe it.’ It has been a huge year for Old Dominion. After writing hits behind-the-scenes for other artists this is the first time the Nashville 5-piece have been the stars of the show. Just to list a few of their achievements; they scooped a major-label contract (after a bidding war), released their debut album ‘Meat and Candy’, scored their first #1 as a band with hit single ‘Break Up With Him’, performed on prime-time US television including Jimmy Kimmel Live and completed a mammoth US stadium tour with Kenny Chesney. The band also took their first trip to the UK to perform at London’s C2C Festival, where their energetic sets at both Brooklyn Bowl and indigo2 were both widely considered highlights of the weekend. At their own headline show at London’s Hoxton Bar & Kitchen – much to Old Dominion’s surprise and joy – the packed out crowd were singing along to every word. The past year has propelled Old Dominion to heights they had only previously dreamed of. The near future includes further single releases, more touring and penning new songs. Before long their success could reach dizzying levels. Meat and Candy is out now.

Having a 360-degree view of the audience gives me the opportunity to connect with more fans and feed off their energy. I can’t wait to continue this tour into the fall!” Concert review critics have applauded Underwood’s confidence and command over the massive stage that spans the entire length of the arena floor. The Washing ton Post claimed she’s “at the top of her game,” and the Hampton Daily Press said the show’s “presentation is overwhelming, from start to finish- a spectacular sensory overload that had the crowd roaring all night long.” Rollingstonecountry.com praised “the in-the-round setting provides each concertgoer with the best experience possible. Simpler still is the storytelling aspect of the show and country music’s reliance on conveying memorable stories in song.” The Boston Globe stated, Underwood “demonstrated that she now truly can stare unflinchingly into those lights and dominate a stage, with a confidence, defiance, and a sense of ownership that have been a treat to watch come to fruition. A rock-solid, deftly sequenced hour-and-45-minue long set, which moved from playful to solemn, smooth to twangy, and from cinematic scope to smaller, intimate moments. The mo st stunning part of the production however, remains Underwood’s voice, strong and nuanced.” The North American tour, promoted by AEG Live, will include special guests Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers. Kenny Chesney Gets His Own Radio Station! No Shoes Radio Moves to SiriusXM April 12

Kenny Chesney on Country Music News

No Shoes Radio Moves to SiriusXM April 12 Kenny Chesney’s Station Moves After Eight Years Online NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 29, 2016) – When Kenny Chesney began No Shoes Radio in 2008, it was a way to deepen the music experience he shared with the already hardcore No Shoes Nation. Culled largely from his iPod, the music mix blurred lines between reggae and rock, country and bluegrass, demos and live records, while unearthing performances people had never heard and offering a behind the scenes glimpse of Chesney’s world. After almost nine years of being on the road, on the bus, in the studio, the islands and places you’d never imagine, No Shoes Radio is packing up its non-playlist and moving to SiriusXM on April 12. For longtime listeners, it is the chance to have No Shoes Radio in the car and to enjoy the songwriter/superstar from East Tennessee along with Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nelson and Tom Petty’s c hannels. “Anyone who knows me knows how passionate I am about music,” Chesney said. “No Shoes Radio started, in part, because of people asking what some of the songs we played between sets at our shows were. I’ve always believed people listen to everything. I know I do, and I think the people of the No Shoes Nation are a lot like me. They’ve been listening to No Shoes Radio for the last eight years, and they’ve let me know they like it.” “So, for people who love music as much as I do, not only do they get No Shoes Radio, they get all the other deep dive channels that SiriusXM has to offer, too. Willie’s Roadhouse, the Petty and Springsteen channels and so much more. And they can listen in their car with great quality sound.” No Shoes Radio will go live on SiriusXM April 1 2. To celebrate the move, Chesney will play one of his storied, small club shows at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, N.J.– which will be broadcast live – on May 12. “I love to grow and learn and expand,” said the man The Wall Street Journal calls “The King of the Road” of his new alliance. “I think you can always be better, smarter and find new ways to do things. For No Shoes Radio, which was a labor of love, we’re taking it into a whole new room – and who knows what might happen? And to celebrate, I figure we should do what we all love: make some music!” As “Noise,” Chesney’s lead single from an album arriving some time this summer, lands at radio this week, it’s a good time for the eight-time Entertainer of the Year. Having just played a Keg in the Keys show at Sloppy Joe’s in Key West on March 21, he’s gearing up to kick off his Spread the Love Tour April 23 at Auburn’s Jordan-Hare Stadium with Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt and Old Dominion. Between 15 stadiums, arena and amphitheater dates and a brand new Continue reading Kenny Chesney Gets His Own Radio Station! No Shoes Radio Moves to SiriusXM April 12

KELSEA BALLERINI TAKES FLIGHT WITH THRILL-SEEKING MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “PETER PAN”

Kelsea Ballerini on Country Music News Blog

KELSEA BALLERINI TAKES FLIGHT WITH THRILL-SEEKING MUSIC VIDEO FOR  NEW SINGLE “PETER PAN” Highly-Anticipated Music Video To World Premiere Exclusively Across Entertainment Tonight This Thursday (3/31) ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year Winner Readies For Awards Show Performance With Just-Announced Special Guest, Pop Superstar Nick Jonas Pictured: Kelsea Ballerini and model/actor Nick Davis on set filming the “Peter Pan” music video just outside of Las Vegas, NV on February 16. Photo credit: Robert Chavers / Black River Entertainment NASHVILLE, TN (March 29, 2016) – Black River Entertainment’s Kelsea Ballerini takes flight with the thrill-seeking video for her brand new single “Peter Pan,” which makes its world premiere exclusively across Entertainment Tonight and ETonline.com this Thursday (3/31). Following the premiere, the video will make its full-length broadcast debut on CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown on Saturday (4/2) and will also be available across multiple media platforms. Taking a modern approach to the well-known animated fantasy-adventure story of Peter Pan, Ballerini worked closely with director Kristin Barlowe to bring Neverland to life. “I loved the idea of having a song about a breakup that wasn’t some dramatic cheating or scandal moment. It’s the kind of thing where one person just can’t emotionally match the other, and that’s a sad kind of ending and heartbreak … and that’s what I wanted this song and video to capture,” shares Ballerini. “ Sometimes the thrills of life or youth overrule the thrill of love until someone is truly ready to be in a relationship. This was a fun way to show that side in the video.” Filmed just outside of Las Vegas, the video heightens the thrills of youth with the adrenaline rush of flying, driving and falling in love while rolling in subtle throwbacks to the classic story. To visually capture the drama of the song and vast video set, fashion designers Cavanagh Baker for Stowe and Carol Hannah created breath-taking, theatrical custom pieces for Ballerini while heart-stopping aerial maneuvers appear courtesy of the aviation stunt team at Sky Combat Ace (Las Vegas). Leading up to the premiere, fans can get an inside first look at the behind-the-scenes making of the video on People.com and iHeart Radio.com. Written by Ballerini, Jesse Lee and the album’s producer Forest Glen Whitehead, “Peter Pan” is the third single released from the talented singer/songwriter’s critically acclaimed debut THE FIRST TIME and follows two consecutive #1 smashes: the GOLD-certified “Love Me Like You Mean It” and infectious, follow-up “Dibs.” Continuing to soar to new heights, Ballerini earned her first-ever ACM Award win for New Female Vocalist of the Year and took to her socials to share her priceless reaction. She plans to celebrate with her first full-blown awards show performance featuring pop superstar Nick Jonas, as announced earlier today on his Twitter. Airing live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3 at 8:00 PM ET/delayed PT on CBS, the rising star will also vie for Female Vocalist of the Year.
