Lionel Richie Has Received His First-Ever Country Music Association Nomination. Lionel Richie received his first-ever CMA nomination on Wednesday for his duet with Darius Rucker on Richie’s “Stuck On You” in the Music Event of the Year category. “I am thrilled to receive my first nomination from the CMA. I am so grateful to the country music community for embracing this project and making me feel so at home. To share this nomination with my friend Darius Rucker makes it even more special. I have a CMA nomination and a friend for life. It doesn’t get much better than that.” -Richie Rucker, who sang with Richie on “Stuck On You,” says, “I was so honored to have sung with Lionel and am overjoyed with this nomination.” “Stuck On You” appears on Richie’s platinum-certified Tuskegee. Tuskegee is the best-selling country album of 2012 and the first country album in more than a year to spend two consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200. The album features duets of 13 of his timeless hits with Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Billy Currington, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Jennifer Nettles, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Rogers, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton and Shania Twain. Toby Keith I Like Girls That Drink Beer Video

The Official Music Video For Toby Keith’s “I Like Girls That Drink Beer.” Toby Keith’s latest single, “I Like Girls That Drink Beer,” is becoming a major hit with the women who prefer an ice-cold-can over a flute of champagne. The video was shot at a concert and it looks like one huge party. There seem to be no men in the audience, which is quite all right with Keith because the song mentions nothing of the male gender! All the women are cheering and chugging as they watch the man and his red solo cup do his thing on stage. Watch the video for “I Like Girls That Drink Beer” now!

Eric Church Talks About CMA Nominations

Eric Church Reacts To His 5 CMA Nominations. Eric Church had no idea he would lead the pack of contenders with the most nominations for the 2012 CMA Awards. Following his first-ever CMA nomination for New Artist of the Year at last year’s awards show, Church received a total of five nominations this year including: Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year (CHIEF), Single of The Year (“Springsteen”), Song of the Year (“Springsteen”), and Music Video of the Year (“Springsteen”). While swimming in the Gulf of Mexico on vacation this past week, Church lost his cell phone and had no way to be informed he’d even been nominated at all. However, when he returned to Nashville his management whisked him away to their office, projected the press release from the CMA on an oversized screen in his manager John Peets’ office, and waited for his reaction. “I really don’t even know what to say! I’m still a little bit in shock… I’m truly speechless. I think it’s a testament to the fans that believed in the music… loved the music… and told people about the music because otherwise we don’t really have the track record to be the most nominated at this point in our career. I think that it’s truly because of the fans… they did something I think is going to be judged as pretty special.” -Church In order to thank them for all of their support over the years, Church created a special video address that went out to Church Choir members exclusively on Wednesday. On Sept. 13, Church will kick off the fall leg of The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour in Amherst, MA and will release his first-ever live album in 2013.

Show Dog-Universal Music released his self-titled debut CD on August 21st and followed the artist for two days of activities in Fort Worth. The videos capture everything from his appearance on Good Day Dallas, to a performance at Joe T Garcia’s to another performance and autograph signing at a Fort Worth Best Buy, and topped off with a little sight-seeing. “It’s been the culminations of many years of work, hope and more work, but I finally got to see my CD out there for everyone to hear,” Hodges said. “Getting to spend some time in my hometown of Fort Worth, where my love of music began so many years ago, was a thrill for me, and I definitely want to share that with the fans who have supported me for so long. I know everybody couldn’t join the party in Fort Worth, so I am bringing the party to them.” Hodges places a lot of stock in the opinion of his fans, and rightly so.
